Ark Music Factory Responds To Rebecca Black Pulling Video From YouTube

June 17, 2011 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Ark Music Factory, who produced Rebecca Black’s hit “Friday,” says that it is disappointed by Black pulling the video from YouTube, saying they weren’t notified beforeheand. A rep for the company told TMZ that they were “blindsided” by the act. Black’s people pulled the video due to problems with the company using Black’s image without her permission.

“We’re disappointed, having been in good faith negotiations with Rebecca Black and her representatives for months regarding any open issues,” said the rep. “There’s been an ongoing, open dialogue with our company. So we were blindsided to get a Take Down Notice — with no notice — alleging copyright infringement instead of a call or email from Rebecca’s representatives.”

The rep added, “We are going to continue to take the high road and work out the complaint as soon as possible.”
