Beyonce Signs $50 Million Deal With Pepsi
The New York Times reports that Beyonce has signed a new $50 million deal with Pepsi.
The deal goes along with the 2013 Halftime Show at the Super Bowl, of which Pepsi is a sponsor. Beyonce has been featured in Pepsi ads since 2002. She will appear in a brand new commercial during the Super Bowl on February 3. Pepsi will then sponsor several creative projects for Beyonce and promote her upcoming fourth album. Meanwhile, The Dream said that Beyonce will “definitely” have a single ready for her performance.
Beyonce said: “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve. As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.“
Billboard adds that Pepsi, along with Coca-Cola, are the two most powerful brands in music because of their sponsorship efforts involving musicians, tours and TV programs like The X Factor and American Idol. Pepsi and Coke spent $330 million and $240 million, respectively, on sports and entertainment programs. Their recent campaigns included One Direction and The New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees as well as an NFL Anthems campaign featuring Kelly Clarkson, Lenny Kravitz, Kid Rock, Aerosmith and Ice Cube.
