Brian May To Release 40 Years Of Queen Ebook
Billboard reports that Queen guitarist Brian May is set to release an ebook version of 40 Years of Queen designed for the iPad.
May personally held a showing of the interactive ebook at the private members’ club the Groucho in central London. It was created using Apple iBooks author by publisher Carlton Digital. The original book was published by Goodman Books and was released last year. This is Carlton Digital’s first ebook. The book includes photo galleries, multi-touch control, Queen’s music and reproductions of memorabilia. It also features audio forwards by May and Roger Taylor.
May said technology was making people “rethink once again and rediscover what a book really is and what it has the potential to be.” He described the ebook as “a great advert for what ebooks may be like in the future.”
The book also has biographies of each band member (May, Taylor, Freddie Mercury and John Deacon) which feature photo galleries, handwritten lyrics and audio quotes. Other extras include an electronic jigsaw puzzle, zoomable photographs, multi-image galleries, animations to show off the vinyl, hotlinks for simple navigation and even photographs of mud-wrestling women.
It will be sold for £9.99 ($16) and will be released on December 14.
