Bruno Mars Now In the Running For #1 on Album Chart

December 17, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Taylor Swift shouldn’t get too confident about her chances to return to the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. Billboard reports that Bruno Mars’ new LP Unorthodox Jukebox beat expectations, selling between 180,000 – 190,000 copies to place it in contention for the top spot.

The album is now in competition with Swift’s Red, which should sell between 185-000 and 2000,000. If Swift wins it will be Red’s fifth non-consecutive week at #1, while Unorthodox Jukebox would be celebrating its first week at the top.
