Chance the Rapper Donating $1 Million To Chicago Public Schools
Pitchfork reports that Chance the Rapper had a press conference yesterday at the Westcott Elementary School in Chicago. He announced that he will donate $1 million to Chicago Public Schools. he and Common will later talk on the phone about donating more money.
He said: “Our kids should not be held hostage because of political positions.”
This comes after he met with Illinois governor Bruce Rauner to talk about public education and “important issues affecting” the city of Chicago and state of Illinois. After it was over, Chance stated: “It went a little different than it should have.” He also said that he didn’t get the answers he was looking for, as they were “vague”. At the press conference, he repeated this claim and told the governor to do his job.
