Chris Tomlin Set for Number 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Next Week
Billboard reports that Chris Tomlin could earn his first number 1 album with Burning Lights which could top next week’s Billboard 200 chart.
Tomlin’s new album is projected to sell upwards of 60,000 to 70,000 copies by the end of the week on Sunday, January 13. It would mark the second number 1 debut from a Christian album in less than a year and only the fourth Christian album to ever make number 1. Last September, tobyMac made number 1 with Eye On It.
With few major albums set to arrive in the first half of January, smaller sales figure can enable high debuts on the Billboard 200. Last week, Les Miserables topped the chart with 92,000 copies. Other new albums set to make a top 10 debut for next week includes Notes From the Underground by Hollywood Undead and Wretched and Divine: The Story of The Wild Ones by the Black Veil Brides.
