Ciara Sued By Gay Bar For Not Showing Up To Event
TMZ reports that Ciara is being sued by West Hollywood gay bar The Factory. They claim that she backed out of an event during Los Angeles Gay Pride week.
Ciara signed a $10,000 deal to appear tonight, one day before she will perform on the main stage at the 2013 L.A. Pride parade. She said she couldn’t perform due to restrictions in her contract with the Pride event, but seemed to hint that she could make an appearance. She announced she wouldn’t appear on June 3, leaving the nightclub without a star for it’s pre-parade party.
They are suing her for breach of contract and want her to pay for the money the club spent to promote her, along with the money they’re losing as a result of the cancellation.
Her representative said that she didn’t actually sign the deal and added: “Ciara’s commitment to perform at LA Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara’s appearance. The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why the Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the LA Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light.“
