January 3, 2013 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

eFestivals reports that Daft Punk are not planning to tour or play live throughout 2013 according Bestival organizer Rob Da Bank.

Daft punk were rumored to possibly headline slots at Glastonbury and Coachella. However, Rob Da Bank has said he was told through official channels that Daft Punk will not appear live this year at all. Da Bank stated: “There’s all kinds of crazy rumours flying about at the moment about Daft Punk at Coachella, and The Rolling Stones playing Glastonbury. We got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumour mill going.”

Da Bank also said the Bestival will soon have it’s three headline acts in place very soon: “It’s public knowledge that I confirmed the Sunday headliner on the weekend of Bestival this year. That’s good, and that’s another iconic act, that will hopefully be as good as Stevie Wonder was. The rest of it is up in the air really, I haven’t got lots of offers out on headliners. I’ve got two offers out on two headliners that I really want, and I’m waiting to hear back from them, hopefully in the next week. I would love to come out with the full line-up be the end of January, but we’ll have to wait and see, if it doesn’t fall into place, then I know I will have to hold back.”

Bestival also announced a concert in memory of three people who died on the way home from the festival in September.
