January 2, 2013 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Billboard reports that Dave Grohl will soon be making his debut performance with the Sound City Players, a group gathering “core musicians and special guests” from Sound City, a documentary by Grohl on the esteemed recording studio.

The Sound City Players will be playing on January 18 at the Park City Live venue. The actual members of the group aren’t completely clear yet other than Grohl. Though fellow Nirvana alumni Krist Novoselic and sideman Pat Smear recently teamed joined up with Paul McCartney for the film soundtrack’s lead single, “Cut Me Some Slack.” The group performed the song at the 12-12-12: Concert for Sandy Relief last December.

Sound City will also feature appearances from such musicians as Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor, Tom Petty, Metallica and many more.
