Dave Grohl Debuts Sound City Players Lineip at Sundance
Dave Grohl debuted his supergroup the Sound City Players at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday. NME reports that Grohl performed a three-hour set that included appearances by seventeen musicians, with his bandmates in the Foo Fighters sticking it out for the full set.
Among those who appeared were Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear of Nirvana, Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sourt, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Alain Johannes, Chris Goss, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen and Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk. All of the artists who showed have recorded at Sound City Studios and appear in Grohl’s documentary about the studio, which premiered at Sundance.
