Dave Grohl Will Not Tour With Queens of the Stone Age

December 10, 2012 | Posted by Joseph Lee

CBS Local (via NME) reports that Dave Grohl will not be touring with Queens of the Stone Age, even though he will play drums on the new album.

He also said that Them Crooked Vultures, his band with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones, will play together again. He said: “We’ve talked about it, I know that someday we’ll get back together and do stuff, because we love playing with each other.

He recently told the BBC that Queens of the Stone Age was “the baddest rock and roll band in the world”. He added: “With Queens of the Stone Age, like, there were no boundaries with that band, there were no limits with them, it was like if you did something insane, you’d do more, if you did something that seemed too ridiculous– and honestly the new Queens of the Stone Age record, I’m playing drums on that, and I’ll do something so completely ridiculous, I’ll just, like, ‘There’s no way that that Josh isn’t going to let me do that’, and he’ll say, ‘Do that for 45 seconds, over and over again, that’s become, like, part of the song, that is a big part of the song,’ and that’s the way they work.

The band will play the following dates:

March

30 – Lollapalooza, Sao Paolo, Brazil

April

6 – Lollapalooza, Santiago, Chile

June

13 – Greenfield Festival, Interlaken, Switzerland
14 –Download Festival, Donnington, UK
