Duff McKagan Praises Pink Floyd and ZZ Top At Classic Rock Awards

NME reports that Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, The Damned and Status Quo were all honored at the Classic Rock Awards last night.

The ceremony was hosted by Duff McKagan (bassist for Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and Loaded), who told musicians to support the Help For Heroes charity.

ZZ Top won the Living Legend award, which was announced by 2011’s winner, guitarist Jeff Beck. Rivals Sons won Breakthrough Act of the Year for their second album Head Down. Russ Ballard won the Classic Songwriter award. He wrote Rainbow’s 1980 song “Since You’ve Been Gone” and Argent’s “God Gave Rock and Roll To You” (covered by Kiss).
