Garbage Begins Work on New Album

December 17, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Garbage have revealed that they have begun work on their new album. Butch Vig and Shirley Manson told Rolling Stone that the band has been making progress on writing music and should be in the studio soon, a quick turnaround considering the seven years between beautifulgarbage and this year’s Not Your Kind Of People.

Vig said, “We’re going to do some recording in January, early February.”

Meanwhile, Manson chimed in to say, “The good thing now is we don’t even need to think in terms of an album, so we’re just thinking in terms of new music, which actually really works in our favour. Historically, we’ve worked slow because we’ve toured so much – we go and spend a year making a record, then we go back out on the road. Now we realise we can do two or three tracks, release these tracks and then go on the road.”
