Grammy Gatecrasher Wants Adele To Help Him
Billboard reports that the man who was arrested at the Grammy Awards for crashing the stage wants Adele to help him.
Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk said it was a spontaneous event and he is only now realizing the legal consequences. He didn’t have a ticket to the show and was in police custody for several hours before getting released with a trespassing citation and a court date on March 4. He took the microphone moments before Adele accepted her award and got a few words out before he was forced away by Jennifer Lopez. Adele called Lopez her “good luck charm”.
He said: “It was spontaneous. It was not planned of course.“
He may get banned from covering award shows, which would hurt his job since he has a history of this. Will Smith slapped Sediuk last year when he tried to kiss him and Madonna was angry that he gave her a bouquet of flowers she hated.
He is now hoping that Adele will help him. He said: “Oh Adele. Help me not to go to jail. “
He arrived at the show in a car that had access to the red carpet, and did a few interviews before he tried to follow Nicole Kidman inside. She talked to reporters and instead he followed Katy Perry. He got a seat near the state and took Adam Levine’s seat. He was never questioned by a guard. He added: “I didn’t really think about the fact that I didn’t have the ticket.“
The show had additional police protection because of the hunt for former police officer Christopher Dorner, who is suspected of killing three people and wanted to target police and their families. Sediuk was arrested by private security who were supposed to make sure everyone at the show had a right to be there. Sediuk said he had to get creative because he didn’t have any media credentials. Before going onstage, he was daydreaming about getting an Academy Award. He also said he wanted an interesting report. He said the incident was “not a surprise” to those who knew him. He also blamed the lax security for what happened.
Lopez seemed upset but kept calm during the incident. The incident was reported on Monday by The Hollywood Reporter.
Lopez’s publicist Mark Young said: “Like Adele said, she’s her good luck charm.“
Sediuk says he doesn’t regret anything, although he doesn’t like the idea of going to court.
