Jay-Z And Coldplay To Perform On New Year’s In Brooklyn
Billboard reports that Jay-Z will ring in the new year at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, along with Coldplay.
The show on Monday, December 31 happens after Jay-Z’s eight-night run at the new arena in September. Coldplay also has a December 29 date at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and a solo headlining date at the Barclays Center on Dec. 30. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve show go on sale Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10 am ET.
Jay-Z and Martin, who collaborated on the song “Beach Chair” in 2006, also performed together on New Year’s two years ago at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. The two are friends and also performed at the 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony.
After touring to support their fifth album Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay will release their second live album/DVD, Live 2012 on November 19. The shows in Brooklyn will be the first New York shows the band has sold tickets to since 2005.
