Jay-Z Takes a Trip to Truffle Country in Italy
Jay-Z took a trip to Italy to taste some of the country’s delicacies. La Stampa reports that the rapper took a trip to Alba in the Piedmont region of the country to go truffle hunting accompanied by a local farmer and his dogs.
“I was really impressed by his knowledge of wine,” said farmer Luca Currado, who runs the Vietti di Castiglione Faletto. The site also reports that Jay spend over £12,000 on three kilos of truffles and afterward dined on egg and spinach ravioli with white truffle, which is known to be a speciality of the area.
The rapper also visited some local vineyards, drinking £8,000 worth of wine in a local restaurant. Alessandro Bonino, managing director an Alba truffle retailer named Tartufi Morra, said he would welcome a hip-hop clientele. “It would be a pleasure,” he said.
