Journey Donates $350,000 for the Philippines Typhoon Relief

Billboard reports that Journey has donated $350,000 in order to help relief efforts in the Philippines.

Lead singer Arnel Pineda, a Manila native, and the band announced the donation on Friday. The money will go to the United Nations World Food Programme, which provides Filipinos with food assistance. The donation will reportedly provide 1.4 million meals. The donation was made by Journey along with Live Nation Entertainment, Creative Artists Agency, and their manager, John Baruck.

In a statement, Pineda referenced the group’s famous song, “Believin'” and said that “help is on the way.”

The Philippines were recently devasted by Typhoon Haiyan. The disaster left more than 3,600 dead and displaced 600,000 according to authorities.
