Justin Timberlake Set To Make Live Return During Super Bowl Weeeknd
Billboard reports that Justin Timberlake is set to make his live return during Super Bowl Weekend, not long after releasing his comeback single “Suit & Tie”. He will perform his first solo concert in years at a New Orleans charity concert, the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night. It is being held on February 2 at FTV SuperFan stadium. It will be hosted by Mark Cuban. Questlove of The Roots is DJ’ing before and after Timberlake’s set.
The event benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children and is tied into the 7th annual celebrity beach bowl, a football game with celebrities. This year’s roster includes Snoop Dogg, Chace Crawford and Olympian Lolo Jones. Super Bowl XLVII happens the next day at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
“Suit And Tie” was released on January 13, and is the first single from his third solo album The 20/20 Experience. It’s the first release for Timberlake since 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds. He said: “That’s all I’m giving you for now… I know, I know! Again, with the teasing!!!“
He wrapped his last tour, the “FutureSex/LoveShow,” in December 2007, but has had other appearances. In September 2011 he played several of his hits, including “Cry Me a River” and “Like I Love You” — midway through a concert by the band FreeSol.
