Kelly Clarkson and fun. Talk About Performing at the Presidential Inauguration

Kelly Clarkson, fun. and Smokey Robinson recently spoke with Billboard about performing at the presidential inaguration tthis weekend. Check out the highlights:

Clarkson on being able to perform: “I think it’s going to be the coolest thing ever to look back with my grandkids and go, `I was a part of that and I’m proud of that. I’m not ashamed of that’…I’m excited to be a part of it honestly. I’m more stoked about (it more) than maybe a lot in my career.”

Clarkson on her planned performance of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”: “We came up with a really cool arrangement for it and I really love the lyrics.”

fun. frontman Nate Ruess on their performance: “It’s been amazing year, and 2013 is kicking off with us doing the inauguration … it’s just an incredible thing. I think the three of us care so much about Obama and so to be invited, I can’t even deal.”

Smokey Robinson on the performers: “I think they’re all very talented people. Stevie [Wonder]’s my brother and so is Usher. I know Katy [Perry] … I’m very happy to be performing among them.”
