December 27, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

The soundtrack for Les Miserables is doing well on the music charts as well as the box office. Billboard reports that Les Miserables: Highlights From the Motion Picture Soundtrack bowed at #1 on the Soundtracks chart, with 43,000 copies sold in the first three days. The album, which was released last Friday, hit #33 on the Billboard 200.

The album sold 60% from digital downloads, thanks in part to Amazon discounting it to $5. The album contains twenty songs that were featured in the film; Anne Hathaway’s performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” has done 20,000 copies in sales on its own.
