Lostprophets Singer In Custody Over Child Sex Charges
BBC reports that Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins is in custody and has appeeared in court on several child sexual charges, including conspiracy to rape a baby. He appeared in court through a video link at Cardiff Crown Court from Parc Prison, Bridgend.
The accused only had to speak their names at the preliminary hearing, which lasted less than ten minutes. Watkins was refused bail.
He was with two other female defendants who can’t be named for legal reasons. They will be held until at least March 11. Watkins faces a charge of conspiracy to have sex with a child under the age of 13 and four charges involving the possession and distribution of indecent images of children. The charges date from May to December of this year.
A 24-year-old woman from Bedford was charged with the same crimes as Watkins. A 20-year-old woman from Doncaster was charged with five of the same crimes by not conspiracy to rape.
Meanwhile, The Independent says that parties also accessed “extreme pornography”, including animal porn. One of the charges over the child pornography includes making the material.
