Mariah Carey Taking a Break From Media After New Year’s Eve Incident
Mariah Carey is stepping away from media and social media after claiming she was “foiled” by Dick Clark Productions during her now-infamous New Year Eve performance SNAFU. Carey took to Twitter to share an audio filed revealing that she is taking a break from media and social media “moments” after the performance, which was ridden with technical glitches and earned her criticism for her handling of the performance.
“Listen, guys. They foiled me,” she said in the clip, claiming that performance “turned into an opportunity” by DCP “to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me”. She noted that her feelings were hurt and she will instead spend her time preparing for her upcoming tour in March.
Carey’s people have claimed that the performance, which saw her headset set to the wrong frequency, as “sabotage.” DCP issued a statement calling the claims defematory and “absurd.”
