Maroon 5 Ties 2012 Mark For Longest Reign on Billboard Hot 100

Maroon 5 has one of the two biggest hits of the year. Billboard reports that “One More Night” spent a ninth week on top of the chart, tying Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” as the longest reigning single of the year. If the song reigns one more week it will tie Rihanna’s “We Found Love” as the biggest hit since the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” reigned for thirteen weeks in July through October of 2009.

Meanwhile, PSY fell out of the #2 spot after seven weeks, making way for Rihanna’s “Diamonds.” The first single off Unapologetic, which releases next week, rose two places to #2 while Ke$ha’s “Die Young” was up three places to #3. Coming in at #4 was fun.’s “Some Nights,” down a spot from last week while PSY’s “Gangnam Style” fell three places to #5.

In the lower half of the top 10, Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” was up a place to #6 while Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” fell two places to #7. Ne-Yo’s “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)” was up two placed to #8) and Alex Clare’s “Too Close” held steady at #9. Flo Rida entered the top 10 with “I Cry,” which was up two places to #10
