Mumford & Sons Reveal Dates For Gentlemen of the Road Tour

February 5, 2013 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Billboard reports that Mumford & Sons have announced this year’s dates for the 2013 “Gentlemen of the Road” tour, which was a big success last year.

There will be five stops starting in July in Lewes, U.K.; Simcoe, Ontario; Troy, Ohio; Guthrie, Oklahoma; and St. Augustine, Florida. The tour goes to small cities to give a community experience with all-day live shows for each weekend. Last year featured artists like St. Vincent, Dawes and Gogol Bordello.

This year they will be joined by Vampire Weekend, fun., Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Alabama Shakes on select dates. The stops will also include a Friday night headliner before Mumford & Sons perform on Saturday. Tickets for each show are $109 and will go on sale Friday. Campsites will be created for each stop.

In a statement, the band said: “The Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers are all about live music. We get to put them on in towns not normally frequented by touring bands in busses or splitter vans. We deliberately look for towns that have something unique, or some vibe of which they are proud, explore them and enjoy what they have to offer.
