Music Industry Legend Clive Davis Comes Out As Bisexual

February 19, 2013 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Billboard reports that music industry legend and chief creative officer of Sony, Clive Davis, has come out as bisexual in an interview with Katie Couric. The interview will air on her talk show Katie today.

Davis either discovered or signed artists like Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Santana, Barry Manilow, Alicia Keys and others.

When talking about his “failed marriage” in the mid 80s, he said: “I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have a relationship with a man as well as the two that I had with a woman. I’m still attracted to women. … You don’t have to be only one thing or another. For me, it’s the person.

The interview clip below doesn’t show who he’s with now, but Davis, an 80-year-old father of four (his three sons Fred, Doug and Mitch also work in the music industry) says he’s in “a monogamous relationship.”

Davis has a book coming out today, called The Soundtrack of My Life, through Simon & Schuster.
