New Found Glory Frontman Says the Band Will be Going Away for a While Soon

November 28, 2012 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Billboard spoke with New Found Glory frontman Jordan Pundik who talked about the band celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Sticks and Stones album release and also the band’s pending future:

About celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Sticks and Stones and playing it in its entirety: “Over the years of touring and everything I’ve met a lot of fans and talk to a lot of people, and they always go to ‘Sticks and Stones’ and how it was a big record for them. A lot of bands have said it was a real influence on them, too. And any time we play a song from that record, it always goes off great live. It feels like the 10 years have gone by so fast, but it’s great to get back to (the album) and play some of the songs that we haven’t played in a long time.”

Pundik on the band needing to take a low profile for a while: “I think we need to go away for a little bit. We’ve been touring for a long time. I don’t think anybody’s in the headspace for writing a new record. We won’t go away completely; we’re still gonna be doing things here and there, probably some one-offs and things like that. But to be honest I don’t think we’ll have anything new out until 2014.”

Pundik’s assurance that the band will come back and won’t stray apart: “Oh, I’m completely confident we’ll be back. We’ve done this before… the last time we had a long break was probably 2006 or 2007. A record runs its course and we take a break, and before long we’re ready to do something again.”

On New Found Glory’s first ever live DVD release: “There’s talk about that. We’ve never really done one, so it’s kind of overdue. We’d like to shoot it in one of the places where a lot of die-hard fans live. I think that’ll probably happen at some point soon.”
