Pussy Riot Member Moved to Prison Hospital

February 2, 2013 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

The Guardian reports that Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova has been transferred to a prison hospital, according to reports.

Last October, the 22-year-old Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, 24, were sent to separate prison camps when they were imprisoned for hooliganism for protesting against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tolokonnikova was moved to the remote colony IK-14, but she has now been admitted to the hospital after suffering from severe headaches. Her lawyer, Irina Khrunova released statement that Tolokonnikova had a medical investigation in December last year and the suggestion that the reason for her headaches could be “very serious.” As a result she was moved to the prison hospital on January 24 after an official appeal to the prisoner’s director.
