Queens of the Stone Age Are Not Releasing An Album In March 2013
NME contacted the management of Queens of the Stone Age for confirmation that they will release their new album in March, after a claim was made in FACT magazine. The band’s representatives denied the report.
Whenever the album comes out, it will be a follow-up to 2007’s Era Vulgaris. However the band has not officially named a release date yet.
Singer Josh Homme recently said the songs he recorded for the sixth album “sound like running in a dream”. Dave Grohl will play drums on the album after Joey Castillo left the band. Homme told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1: “I think this record is a little more lyrically vulnerable, but I also think it’s sort of musically deeper and richer, and it’s a little bit stranger. [There are] a lot of struggles going on. This record basically sounds like you’re running in a dream the whole time.“
Both Trent Reznor and former bassist Nick Olveri are recording on the album.
Queens Of The Stone Age will perform at the Download Festival for the first ever time next summer. The event takes place June 14-16 2013 at Donington Park.
