Snoop Dogg Would Like to Invest in Celtic Football Club
The Daily Record reports that rapper Snoop Dogg has said he’d like to buy shares in the Celtic Football Club.
Snoop Dogg, now named Snoop Lion, recently stated he wants a seat on the Glasgow football team’s board and said he’d shell out millions of dollars to get involved.
Snoop reportedly became inspired to buy into the team after he saw highlights of their surprising 2-1 victory over FC Barcelona in the Uefa Champions League earlier this month.
He stated: “I’ve got a lot of interest in soccer. It’s not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams. I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell.”
Snoop does hope to join the board, but he has no interest in owning the club. He would like to invest enough “to be heard” and would like to “bring a bit of Snoop to things”.
The rapper apparently has a plan to bring LA Galaxy footballer David Beckham to Glasgow. He said: “I would try and sign him up for a season but he is pretty happy over here. LA is home for him and his family now, but I would have to at least make that offer to my boy.”
