The-Dream Says He’s Re-Releasing Digital Album as Physical Product

December 7, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

The-Dream recently spoke with Billboard about his plans to re-release 1977, which was released as a free digital album, as a for-sale physical product on December 18th and more. Check out the highlights:

On the re-release: “A lot of fans wanted it to be released officially…People want their music in a certain type of way, and it’s up to us to give it to them that way. Everybody doesn’t want to be accustomed to downloading something from a site where it may not be as mastered. The people who love [1977] will love it. There’s a lot of people who probably haven’t heard it, and they’ll hear it for the first time.”

On finding the balance between his producing and his solo career: “The label and I have to figure out how to combine both of these things, and see this as one musical picture…At the end of the day, I’m a songwriter. And no matter where these places are, I can revisit them.”
