Beyonce is a GQ Cover Girl

Beyonce and her sexy physique grace the cover of the latest issue of GQ magazine. What’s even more impressive is that she gave birth to little Blue Ivy Carter a year ago and her body seems to be back and better than ever. Some people are saying it’s an unflattering photograph of her, if it were to be blown up, but it’s not a poster, it’s a magazine cover. I’m on the opposite side of the haters, this cover shot makes Beyonce look skinny and toned and she knows how to work it. The always stunning singer isn’t even afraid to show some boobage, I mean it is GQ so they have to show a little something for the fellas.

Justin Bieber Fans Cut Themselves

And I thought my story on One Direction fans last week was disturbing…

Some of Justin Bieber’s diehard fans, a.k.a. Beliebers, cut hemselves in hopes that Bieber will stop smoking marijuana. An army of Beliebers have taken to their Twitter accounts to post pictures of their cut marks and put up the hashtag #cutforbieber. Beliebers are pleading with the singer to stop using drugs by self harming after Bieber was photographed holding what looks like a joint, presumably filled with weed. Some say The “Cutting For Bieber” campaign started when a few Bieber fan imposters posted fake photographs online of themselves with pretty gruesome cut makes up their arms that then prompted the true Beliebers to cut themselves for real.

Obviously this is extremely troubling for a number of reasons, namely that these young fans have gone as far as physically hurting themselves because of something Bieber has allegedly done. These fans have put Bieber on such a high pedestal that I don’t even think they realize he’s a human being and not some sort of god.

I personally couldn’t care less about what Bieber does, or what he smokes, and I kind of feel sorry for him, what he does in his spare time has been made into such a big deal. Some may argue that he needs to be careful because he is a role model for young kids, but he is also young himself. He is going to make mistakes and experiment. My main concern lies with the fans. I know that their young and also making mistakes and think that Bieber is their entire world right now, but I want to take them and shake them and tell them that there are way more important things in life coming their way.

There are people out there who have a legitimate problem with cutting, and I think this whole thing is making a mockery out of a real disease and it pisses me off that some people are just making it a joke. If the real Bieber fans out there really feel that cutting themselves is the only way to get Bieber’s attention or to feel better, they need real psychiatric help, not Twitter.

David Bowie Releases New Song

For the first time in ten years, David Bowie has released a new song into the world! I’m really happy about this because I love Bowie and I thought he was done with the music game since it had been so long since he’s graced us with new music. His new album, The Next Day, is slated for a March release. That’s right around the corner! And perfect timing too, we needs some Bowie in our lives, and we need him to swoop back in like a super hero and save all of us from the crap that comes out of z100.

The slow tempoed song is a bit mellow than I was hoping for, but it’s beautiful. I can tell that Bowie put as much effort into this song as he put into “Ziggy Stardust,” he never delivers less than 100%. The best part is that his voice still sounds great! He conveys a lot of emotion with his voice, as usual, and I always appreciate that from any musician. Bowie proves to us that once you’re an artist, you’re always an artist.

Miranda Lambert Is Awesome

Miranda Lambert talked to Redbook magazine this month and explains why she spoke up about Chris Brown via Twitter after he was allowed to perform two songs at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Lambert’s quotes from Redbook:

“I didn’t feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women.”

“It’s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die.”

I remember watching the Grammy’s and thinking the same things as Lambert tweeted her thoughts on the situation, why was this guy being awarded for being an ass? The performances weren’t even good.

I know the old adage, “forgive and forget,” but has Brown really shown the world and his fans that he’s a changed man? That he should be forgiven? What has he done that’s so great? He hasn’t saved any lives, and he’s freaked out and gotten into vicious Twitter fights with a bunch of people, even tweeting rude things at fans, since he beat Rihanna. I don’t even think he’s sorry.

I think Lambert is awesome for speaking her mind without any fear and saying what everyone else is thinking (I hope). I don’t think Lambert even needed to give an explanation as to why she said something about Brown in the first place, but I’m glad she clarified her statement for all of the people that may have disagreed with her, even though I can’t see why anyone would disagree that our society says it’s okay for a man to beat his girlfriend because he’ll still be famous and successful.

Harry Styles and Taylor Swift Breakup

HATE ( I guess)

Well, another bites the dust. Harry Styles and Taylor Swift have reportedly called it quits on each other. The world now waits for Swift to right some angry love song about Styles and bash him into a million pieces. We all know that the song is inevitable so I’ve started to brace myself.

Swift’s songs are no doubt catchy and perfect for radio and made to climb the pop charts, but can we get a little variety here? I know as a writer you’re supposed to write what you know, but let’s go back to the “Love Story” days. She’s much less annoying on that track anyway. And how many relationships is this girl going to burn through? She has to be setting some kind of record. I hate to sound like one of the obsessed One Direction fans, but I hope she isn’t doing all of this loving and hating for song material. That’s just cold, girl.

What I’m Listening To:

I’ve been revisiting both of Ellie Goulding’s albums, Lights and Halcyon as of late. My favorite songs of hers are “Anything Could Happen” and “The Writer.” I also really enjoy her cover of “Your Song.” She is so good!
