Mitt Romney’s Involvement in Supporter’s Divorce Battle Target of Boston Globe Probe
Mitt Romney is reportedly the cause for the Boston Globe heading to court to seek an unsealing of legal records tomorrow. TMZ reports that the newspaper has an court appearance scheduled for tomorrow in which it will request that a court file be unsealed and gag order be lifted regarding the divorce between Staples co-founder Tom Stemberg and his first wife Maureen.
According to the site, the Boston Globe received a tip that there was “juicy information about Romney” in the documents and that Romney, Stemberg and Maureen have all been served with papers by the Globe letting them know that the paper is trying to have the case unsealed as well as the gag order lifted on all parties.
Stemberg, who has been a major supporter of Romney, has had his lawyer file papers opposing the motion. No response from Romney’s lawyers yet. Gloria Allred reportedly represents someone connected with the divorce, with all signs pointing to Maureen.
