The Spectral Envoy (UltraMantis Black, Hallowicked & Frightmare) vs. The Bloc Party (The Proletariat Boar of Moldova, Mr. Azerbaijan & Prakash Sabar)

Azerbaijan pulls down his straps after shoulder blocking Frightmare. Frightmare uses scare tactics to get him to retreat and put his straps back on. Boar tags in. Frightmare ducks his boot and gives him a quesadora armdrag. He dropkicks Boar to the floor. Sabar attacks Frightmare from behind. Hallowicked and Mantis assist Frightmare with a yakuza kick. Hallowicked and Mantis also attack him in the corner. Azerbaijan and Boar accidentally squish Sabar as well. The Boar and Azerbaijan then eat a triple clothesline. Azerbaijan trips Frightmare as he hits the ropes. Sabar drops a trifecta of legdrops to start the Bloc Party’s isolation of Frightmare in their corner. Frightmare catches Azerbaijan with a Frankensteiner and tags in Mantis. He knocks down the entire Bloc Party with elbows. The Boar nails him with a Gore. Hallowicked suffers the same fate. Frightmare breaks up his pin on Mantis. Azerbaijan and Sabar double rake Mantis as the Boar puts him in a Bear Hug. Sabar kicks Mantis down in the corner. He misses the Bronco Buster. Frightmare takes Azerbaijan out with a Frankensteiner. He sends Boar to the floor and tope con hilo’s onto Azerbaijan. He then dives onto Sabar and Boar. Azerbaijan sneaks in a schoolboy on Frightmare for two. He goes for a pump handle slam. Frightmare shoves him into a Rydeen Bomb from Hallowicked for the pin at 8:17. The crowd was hot for everything and the action was fun and consistent. The Bloc Party look stronger with each outing and really got to shine on offense. The Boar especially looks more and more like a brute and has potential to be something special. **½

3.0 (Scott “Jagged” Parker & Shane Matthews) vs. The Aftermath (Trevor Lee & Chet Sterling)

The Aftermath attack 3.0 before the bell. Jagged and Matthews do-si-do when they’re whipped into each other and forearm the Aftermath in opposite corners. 3.0 then throw them together. They give Lee jabs and tandem bionic elbows. Sterling goes for a slam on Matthews. Matthews instead puts him in a tree of woe. Matthews throws Jagged feet first into Sterling. 3.0 take turns doing damage to his arm. Lee trips Jagged and backdrops him on the ring apron. He then dropkicks Matthews. The Aftermath work Matthews over in their half of the ring. Matthew avoids a corner attack from Lee and tags out. Jagged tags Lee with a dropkick. He nails Sterling with a rolling forearm. Jagged strings a jawbreaker and enzuigiri together on Lee. Sterling clobbers Jagged with a forearm. Matthews cuts off Sterling with a clothesline. Matthews drop toe holds Lee into Jagged’s elbow drop. Sterling pitches Jagged to the floor. He hot shots Matthews and takes him down with a Rough Ryder for two. Jagged trips Sterling off the ring apron. He legdrops Lee on the second rope. Jagged goes for a crossbody. Lee catches him with a backbreaker. Matthews sends Lee to the floor. He tries a slam but Sterling turns it into a small package. Jagged bodyslams Sterling. Matthews puts him in the Boston Crab. Sterling taps out at 7:46, giving 3.0 their 3rd point. This was a lot of fun. I am never not amazed with Trevor Lee whenever I watch him wrestle. He and Sterling are a great team and I’d love to see them back. Jagged and Matthews seemed to have changed up their arsenal which freshens the act and makes them seem like a more intense team. Their tag title challenge against the Throwbacks should be excellent. **¾

Ashley Remington vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado

Coronado pulls Remington’s hair when Remington puts on a side headlock. Remington gets on a waistlock. Coronado gets the corner where Remington breaks on the count of one. He trips Coronado and goes for a German suplex. Coronado grabs the ropes and again Remington breaks on one. Remington throws a finger fun his way which Coronado swats down. They trade wristlocks. Coronado gets on a side headlock. Remington shoots him off. Coronado stops the momentum and gives Remington a finger gun of his own. Coronado tries a sunset flip, but Remington uses his foot to push Coronado back up to a standing position. He rolls Coronado up into a reverse gutwrench suplex. Remington invites Coronado back into the ring, but not before killing a black widow in the ring. Coronado ends up punching Remington on the ring apron and driving him back first into the ring post. He drives Remington’s back into the ring apron. Back in the ring he snapmares him into a knee strike to the back. He throws some forearms to Remington’s back before taking him down with a clothesline. Coronado tries a German suplex, but Remington drives him face first into the corner. Remington carries him out of the corner into a suplex. He mows down Coronado with a pair of clotheslines and dropkicks Coronado to the corner. Coronado gets his boot up to avoid a corner attack. He dives right into Remington’s arms, who tosses him in a belly-to-belly suplex. Remington tries the German suplex. Coronado escapes and dropkicks him. He gets Remington in the Coronado Clutch. Remington uses the ropes to escape. Coronado tries a German suplex. Remington reverses it into a German suplex of his own for the pin at 10:46. Fantastic back and forth wrestling with a solid story and some good humor thrown in from time to time. One couldn’t ask for more. Remington gives Coronado a fruit basket post match. ***

Amasis says at King of Trios they earned four points in one night. As they were rocking and rolling, Sidney Bakabella took it all from them. Ophidian says they get a chance to re-build tonight. Bakabella may make last minute changes to his team, but the result will stay the same: they get the first point in their three point pyramid.

The Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) vs. The Wrecking Crew (Flex Rumblecrunch & Oleg the Usurper)

Rumblecrunch is replacing Jaka. Rumblecrunch and Oleg shove the Portal, but they won’t back down. They dropkick the Wrecking Crew into one another. After some kicks to Oleg they go for a double team. Rumblecrunch however holds their legs so Oleg can splash them both against the ropes. Oleg picks up some momentum before splashing Ophidian in the corner. He throws Ophidian into Rumblecrunch’s boot. Ophidian slips out of his bodyslam attempt. Amasis tags in. He calf kicks Rumblecrunch. Rumblecrunch rolls through his crossbody attempt and gives Amasis a running powerslam for two. Oleg and Rumblecrunch take great delight in beating Amasis down. That is until Amasis boots Oleg to avoid a splash and tags in Ophidian. He blocks Oleg’s offense and flips into the ring. Oleg catches his spinwheel kick. Ophidian does however get on the Death Grip. When Oleg escapes, Ophidian gives him a lung blower. Rumblecrunch cuts off Ophidian’s dive attempt with a clothesline. Amasis sends Rumblecrunch out with Oleg. The Portal hit stereo dives on them. Ophidian lands a springboard moonsault on Oleg back in the ring. He drives his knees into Oleg’s chest twice. The Portal blast him with a superkick/enzuigiri combo. Rumblecrunch picks them both up in claws. The Portal double superkick him. They send Oleg out with double kicks. Rumblecrunch comes off the top with double shoulder blocks to the Portal. Amasis dropkicks Rumblecrunch in the corner. He takes the Slave Initiation. Amasis follows up with a spinebuster for one. Oleg chokeslams Amasis. He calls for Off With His Head. Ophidian cuts off Oleg with double knees off the top. Rumblecrunch rolls through Ophidian’s crossbody. This time Ophidian rolls him up into a bridging prawn hold. Rumblecrunch sends him into a forearm from Oleg. Rumblecrunch calls for the Death Blow but Oleg is not familiar. He accidentally crotches Rumblecrunch on the top rope. Ophidian gives Oleg a back cracker. Amasis tornado kicks Rumblecrunch to the floor. Ophidian hits the Meteora on Oleg. The Portal then put him with the Osirian Sacrament for the pin at 13:18. This may have gone a little long, but they had the crowd the whole time and Rumblecrunch and Oleg looked really good for their first time teaming. It was super solid wrestling throughout, and the Portal continue to always be awesome. ***

Smashmaster sends Worker Ant to the floor. Fire Ant lights up Smashmaster with chops. Smashmaster cuts off his tornado DDT and dropkicks Worker Ant off the apron. The Death Blow puts Fire Ant down at 13:24. We learned these two teams had good chemistry last year and tonight was no different. They had a hard hitting, back and forth affair where it seemed either team had a chance to win. Worker Ant has also really improved over time. ***¼

Silver Ant vs. Shynron

Silver Ant and Shynron fight for control. Silver Ant sneaks in a roll-up for two. He tries a cradle shortly after that. Shynron uses the ropes to flip out of a wristlock into an armdrag. Silver Ant takes him down in a waistlock. Shynron sweeps out his legs. Silver Ant slips to the floor. Shynron uses the ropes for a tiger feint kick, then uses the ring post for a kick flip somersault senton. Silver Ant gets in some kicks back in the ring. Shynron catches his leg and delivers a dragonscrew leg whip. He taunts Silver Ant with some push-ups, causing Silver Ant to kick his arm. Green Ant then focuses his offense on the left arm. Silver Ant ducks a rolling kick. He kicks out Shynron’s leg before delivering an antzuigiri for two. He comes in with a dropkick to Shynron as he’s seated in the corner. He bodyslams Shynron into a legdrop. He hammerlock’s Shynron’s arm around his leg and bridges back to apply pressure. Shynron gets the ropes. Shynron goes for a side headlock but Silver Ant grabs his arm when he does. He uses his right arm to base a cartwheel and palm thrust Silver Ant in the chest. Shynron backflips kicks Silver Ant to the ropes. He hits a tiger feint kick and a springboard twisting splash for two. Silver Ant catches Shynron with an armbar in the ropes. Shynron goes for a back handspring maneuver. Silver Ant catches him mid-move with a Blue Thunder Bomb. A modified Michinoku Driver gets him two. Shynron brings Silver Ant off the top rope with a Frankensteiner. Shynron comes off the top with a splash for two. He springboards in with a neckbreaker for two. He misses a twisting springboard splash. Shynron uses the ceiling beam and shimmy’s across it. He tries a dive but is caught mid-air by an Ace Crusher from Silver Ant (kinda). That gets Silver Ant the win at 12:50. The finish didn’t entirely connect, but the crowd was forgiving so it didn’t really matter. The action before it was also really, really good. Silver Ant was smart in his focus on Shynron’s arm while Shynron used his agility and creative offense to keep from drowning. It was a great contest, and one that will help make Shynron a major player (in addition to his big Rey de Voladores win). ***½

Jimmy Jacobs says that it’s in the midst of war that a man’s courage is tested. Jacobs says Kid Cyclone’s courage proved to be nothing but talk. He says he should have known that Eddie Kingston would back down when it came to fight for their cause. He ended up being nothing but a mercenary. He thinks CHIKARA is foolish to think Kingston would be anything more than a selfish fighter. He guarantees if Kingston gets his hands on the Grand Championship again, he will leave them by the waist side. Jacobs won’t let Kingston get his hands on that title again. He knows Kingston will try to make sure Jacobs doesn’t go into his title match with Icarus tomorrow at 100%. Jacobs says he’s going to cripple Icarus and Kingston tonight so he can ensure that tomorrow he becomes Grand Champion and he gets one step closer to CHIKARA being destroyed forever.

Icarus, Eddie Kingston, & The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & ‘Mr. Touchdown’ Mark Angelosetti) vs. The Flood (Jimmy Jacobs, 17, & Die Brüderschaft des Kreuzes (Jakob Hammermeier & Nøkken))

Jacobs is dragging the Lithuanian Snow Troll on a chain with him. Kingston wants to start but Angelosetti ignores his tag. He knocks down 17 with a back elbow. Angelosetti gives him a one handed press slam. Jacobs holds onto Angelosetti so he can get in some right hands. Angelosetti slingshots Jacobs into a backbreaker. Nøkken clotheslines him from the apron. Hammermeier trips Hatfield as he comes into the ring. Hatfield gives him an armdrag. Hammermeier jabs him in the throat and tags in Jacobs. Hatfield tags in Icarus instead of Kingston. He and Jacobs trade forearms. Jacobs gets in some headbutts and a clothesline. Kingston cleans house when Icarus hits the floor. Nøkken knocks Kingston down with a body block. It’s not often Kingston finds himself ganged up on, but that’s exactly where he finds himself as the Flood take turns wearing down the War King. Kingston dropkicks Jacobs to the floor and follows with a baseball slide. Angelosetti gets in multiple shoulder tackle to Hammermeier. He bulldogs Hammermeier out of Hatfield’s wheelbarrow. Jacobs drags Hammermeier to the floor so Nøkken can surprise The Throwbacks with a double clothesline. Hatfield now finds himself trapped in the Flood’s grasp. Hatfield escapes when Jacobs tries an Ace Crusher and Hatfield catches him with a rope-assisted suplex. Icarus takes down Hammermeier with a Michinoku Driver. Nøkken boots Icarus down. The Throwbacks dump Nøkken to the floor. They give Hammermeier the Bo Jackson for two. Jacobs goes for the Contra Code on Angelosetti. He turns it into the Flea Flicker. 17 palm strikes Angelosetti. Hatfield spins 17 into a neckbreaker. Nøkken elbows Hatfield out. Icarus forearms Nøkken to the floor. Hammermeier pitches Icarus out. Kingston boots Hammeremier. He ducks Jacobs’ clothesline and gives him a Northern Lights suplex for two. Jacobs spears Kingston onto the ring apron. Icarus and Hatfield flapjack 17 into an Ace Crusher from Angelosetti. Hammermeier breaks up the pin. The Throwbacks give him a double Muscle Buster. Nøkken picks both Throwbacks up by their throats and delivers a double chokeslam. Icarus dropkicks Nøkken to the stage. He Angle slams Jacobs and gives him a TKO across his knee for two. Icarus only gets two with the Shiranui. He sets up Jacobs for the Wings of Icarus. Kingston pulls Jacobs out so he can hit the Backfist, but Jacobs ducks and Kingston hits Icarus! Kingston lights up Nøkken with chops. He then dumps Nøkken on his head with a Northern Lights suplex. Jacobs drops Kingston with a springback Ace Crusher. Kingston gets in the way to take Jacobs’ spear instead of Icarus! Icarus evades Jacobs’ second spear and rolls him up for the pin at 17:50. The story of the match was very good, with Kingston being a loose cannon and the CHIKARA team being distrustful of him. The action was solid, though a couple sloppy moments keep it from being anything truly great. ***

The BDK and 17 attack Icarus and the Throwbacks after the match. Jacobs holds the Grand Championship and tells Icarus that it will be his war trophy tomorrow.

The show felt really inconsequential in terms of story progression but had some solid wrestling on it. Shynron vs. Silver Ant was a delight, and Trevor Lee in a CHIKARA ring is something that does my wrestling loving heart some good. It's a skippable show, but certainly has quality stuff on it you decide to take the plunge. You can buy the show on DVD from Smart Mark Video. For a reduced price, you can download the show as an mp4 or watch it On Demand from SMVOD.
