I pick through the interesting/not so interesting tidbits and then make 411 staff members discuss them for your pleasure. Battling this week are Sean Garmer and Shawn Lealos!

  • Questions were sent out Monday.
  • Participants were told to expect wrestling-related content, as well as possible statements on quantum physics, homemade pharmaceuticals, the Turtle Total Trip Theorem, pizza and hydroponics.

    1. Brock Lesnar should defeat the Undertaker at Sunday’s Summerslam event.

Shawn Lealos: FACT – Brock Lesnar is the biggest thing going today in the WWE. The WWE might want The Undertaker to get back his win, but Lesnar has a future ahead of him in the WWE and Undertaker is probably on his last year. I hate to see Undertaker lose matches in his retirement year, but that is the booking problem since they are putting him against someone who should not lose to anyone cleanly at all right now. If Lesnar loses to Undertaker at this point in their career, his credibility will take a major hit. I think that they might use this to set up Sting vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania, and have Sting cost Undertaker the match, but that even hurts because who will be the face? Then again, they are making Undertaker the heel here which makes no sense either. This entire match should never have happened.

Sean Garmer: FACT – I’ll say he should based on how strong Lesnar has been booked and that the only person that should legitimately beat him (I mean without the use of a MITB cash-in or any other shenanigans,) whoever WWE feels is going to be the next leader of the company. Whether that is Reigns, Cesaro, or someone else. The thing is, this is pro-wrestling and I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE tries to do this for a third time at WM 32. They could do the HHH angle, where Brock beat Taker so bad that even though Taker won, he is so hurt we won’t see him return for a while. If they want to do a third match, Taker has to win this one. Now that it has become very evident that WWE is not doing Undertaker vs. Sting, I think WWE feels another way to sell WM 32 is with a final Brock vs. Taker showdown.

    2. John Cena will defeat Seth Rollins at Sunday’s Summerslam event to win the WWE Title.

Shawn Lealos: FICTION – Seth Rollins has been the chicken-shit heel this entire title run and hasn’t won hardly any of his matches cleanly. Yes, that is a good heel tactic, but it makes him look like a very weak champion. If John Cena beats Rollins on Sunday, that will finish Rollins run at the top. He loses to Super-Cena and will go down in history as an afterthought as champion. Look to Edge at how to make a chicken shit champion still look credible – they are not doing that with Rollins, no matter how great Rollins is in his role. Cena kills bad guy’s heat and if he beats Rollins in their title match, he will destroy Rollins’ momentum dead. I know the question says “will” and not “should,” but I am just hoping they don’t make the mistake of running back to Cena when the going gets tough.

Sean Garmer: FICTION – If WWE is indeed going to follow the ROH storyline, the person that makes the most sense to defend both belts is John Cena. Rollins would just vacate the US Title and keep the WWE World Title, because why is he going to make himself work harder. If Rollins beats Cena he has all the legitimacy he needs. What I really like about this match is that it could go many different ways and it makes it interesting. I have a feeling HHH will get involved or Sheamus cashes in or something will happen to keep Cena from winning it. I could be totally wrong on this, but I don’t really care because I just want to see how it all goes down.

    3. How excited are you for Sunday’s Summerslam event?

Shawn Lealos: 7 out of 10 – I am pretty excited to see the Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match, even though I don’t think it should happen. I am just old-school and seeing Undertaker in a match still brings out the kid in me. I am hoping that Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev allows them to really go at it without too much crap from the girls outside the ring. Seth Rollins vs. John Cena should be a great match. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro will be fantastic. I also like the Wyatt Family vs. The Shield happening again and the four-way tag match might surprise some people. I think this is a pretty solid card.

Sean Garmer: 9 out of 10 – I would say I’m very excited with a solid 9. You have the two big main events that have been booked very well. I thought Mondays RAW did a lot for Cena vs. Rollins with the great segment they had. Taker vs. Brock is going to be interesting. I’m hoping this a jumping off point for The Divas once the match is over. Rusev and Summer Rae have come off well in the last few weeks and I thought Rusev has done well to carry the thing by himself without Dolph around. Cody Rhodes has that Stardust character on lock down and somehow this pairing of him and Barrett works for me. Stephen Amell doing something has me intrigued. If all else fails, Jon Stewart will be great. There’s some clunkers in there, but they all can’t be winners. Summerslam feels huge this year and that’s a big deal for WWE.

    SWITCH!

     photo Sheamus MITb_zpsfrdrdyyw.jpg

    4. Sheamus will not cash in his MITB at Summerslam

Sean Garmer: FICTION – I really hope he doesn’t, but I just have this feeling he will. Stacking the deck against Cena isn’t new and actually having Sheamus join The Authority, wouldn’t be that bad because it gives him something to do. I think we either get a cash-in attempt and it doesn’t follow through, or he cashes-in on a victorious Cena and loses. It doesn’t make any sense for him to go for the US Belt either. But I could see it happening just to cause a distraction to help Rollins too.

Shawn Lealos: FACT – Here is what could happen. John Cena beats Seth Rollins for the title to tie Ric Flair’s record as the 16-time world champion, and then Sheamus comes down cashes in, and wins the title. This gives Cena the record that he might deserve and then takes the title off of him (allowing him to also remain the U.S. champion in the process). I don’t like that at all and hope that it doesn’t happen. Another idea is that Rollins beats Cena and proves himself and then Sheamus comes down and cashes in to win the title. That makes no sense because Sheamus is a bad guy and going against The Authority makes no sense. The first idea is the most likely, but I don’t think Sheamus is in a good place right now to be the champion. It isn’t the time for him.

    5. Only one NXT Title will change hands at Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn special.

Sean Garmer: FACT – I can only see the Women’s Belt changing hands. Balor just won and he needs to keep the belt for a bit and build it up. The Tag Team belts look destined to be around the waist of Jordan and Gable. So, it makes more sense for Team BAMF to keep them for a bit longer. Bayley completing the trifecta and beating all of the other horsewomen to become champion is a great story and HHH isn’t passing that up.

Shawn Lealos: FACT – This is a touch one. I believe that Bayley will beat Sasha Banks for the NXT Women’s Championship so Banks can concentrate all of her attention on the WWE main roster. I do not think that Kevin Owens will win the NXT title back from Finn Balor because Owens is entrenched in the WWE main roster. That leaves the tag title match. Will the Vaudevillains beat Blake and Murphy for the tag team titles? I don’t think they win the belts here, so that leaves just one title change.

    6. How excited are you for Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event.

Sean Garmer: 10 out of 10 – I’m excited for everything on this show. We know Apollo Crews is great, but his debut will be telling. I know I just said what is probably happening with all the belts, but all of those matches are gonna be good to great. Then we have Jushin Liger showing up in a WWE ring. I watch NJPW all the time, so the shock factor won’t be there, but it is still a great moment and surely a big win for Tyler Breeze. I’m excited how the new Era of NXT begins on Saturday night from a Sold Out Barclay’s Center.

Shawn Lealos: 9 out of 10 – Man, I can’t wait to see Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens II. That match will make this show. I am also jacked to see Jushin Thunder Liger taking on Tyler Breeze and thing the veteran will help Breeze show why he is such an exciting young wrestler. I am always excited to see Samoa Joe as well. The women’s match is not really up there for me because Bayley has never really done it for me in the ring. The tag match is just there. Eva Marie is a bathroom break but the fatal four way women’s match should be amazing. Plus, Apollo Crews makes his debut and I hope he really lights NXT up with his match. There is a lot more here to excite me than Summerslam right now.
