411’s WWE Table for 3: The New Day Report

-Original air date for this episode: Sept 14, 2015

-Moving along in my quest to get caught up with this series and this time New Day joins us at the table to break bread.

-All three guys show up in their track suits as they mention it wasn’t even planned. They are thrilled when the food arrives and then start talking about how great Kofi is at impressions. He says he has always been fascinated with language. He always had to correct people when they would say something incorrectly. Big E talks about how Kofi will bounce from accent to accent, and they want him to do one now. Woods talks about Taco Bell and how that was the best one and that leads to Kofi doing his old Jamaican accent.

-They talk about the food and Kofi is apprehensive about clam chowder since he is from New England and their clam chowder is perfect.

-Woods says that his nickname with his friends is “baby mouth.” It seems he got the name due to not eating a variety of things when he was at a party. That nickname nearly caused Big E to do a spit take.

-On to Big E as they talk about what he is eating and he says that he is carrying 300 lbs and has to eat healthy as he doesn’t want his heart to explode. Kofi wants E to fulfill his destiny as a slum lord when he finishes his wrestling career. Big E says that day will come as he gets to walk around in a bathrobe and collect rent. Kofi says the payoff will be when he gets to toss people out and let them know they are “E Victed.” Nice!

-They talk about cutting a promo in Baltimore where they had to crush the crowd and take shots at Orioles’ superstar, Adam Jones. The guys are just having a blast here, and E mentions they are just reaching 1 year of being together. It was a long road to get them together and they can reflect back to when they never thought it would happen. Xavier says they all wanted was a shot to fail and that it was his idea as he felt all three would knock it out of the park.

-Big E says all three were confident that it would work and it was a blessing that they let the three of them be themselves. Kofi says it is fun as this is the first time kids have told him that he sucks. For him he was at a point where stuff was starting to get mundane as he had been doing the same exact stuff for years. He echoes their thoughts that nobody will ever know the amount of work that went into getting the three of the together. Once they cracked the door it was knocked open to the point that they can run with any idea that they have now.

-Woods starts eating an orange and the other two get on him for not using a knife and fork. He shoots back as he tells Kofi he grew up watching him in high school. Big E gets back on track as he talks about how there were rumors they would be The New Nation of Domination. Woods says that was an idea for himself to be in a suit and act better than everyone else because he had a PHD. Big E was pulled into the group and they were afraid to ask Kofi because he was an established guy who was never a heel. For months they kept pushing for the group and then the office threw New Day at them, and while it was not what they wanted originally they knew they could make it work.

-Kofi says that in the beginning the fans were ok with them and problems showed up when they got to smark cities. Kofi mocks your typical “IWC” fan who shows up to cheer all the bad guys.

-Big E likes the fact they were booked as this 3 man group before they even got on TV. He says he wasn’t friends with Woods as he didn’t know him, but knew they could make it work. They then argue over who has invited who to their houses. It seems Kofi has never had either over and he says it is because his son keeps him up all night and they won’t get sleep there.

-Woods says that he and Kofi were friends even though he wasn’t on the main roster. Kofi was in Deep South Wrestling and Austin Watson (Woods) showed up in a suit with his resume. Kofi had never seen someone bring a resume to the world of wrestling. Xavier says he gave them his DVD and his resume and they told him to come back next week. He then finds out from his friend that Deep South had been closed. So next up was FCW and Woods came back again with his suit and resume for another shot. It took a bit, but Kofi says he was ecstatic that Woods was signed. He says that some guys didn’t deserve to be signed such as ex-football players and Woods loses it as he knows Big E came that route. Kofi back tracks and says that Big E was the first African American NXT Champion and that E needed to let him finish before jumping in.

-They talk about how they have been traveling together for nearly a year. Woods tells a road story that has him and Kofi laughing before he can even tell it. Big E isn’t as amused as I assume it was at his expense. So on a road trip, E is jamming out to a song and Woods realizes there are controls to the radio in the back of the car, so he starts randomly playing static. He does so at such random times that E starts losing his mind as he can’t get through all his songs. He asks Kofi (riding shotgun) if he is touching anything and Kofi tells him to make sure his hands are at 10 and 2 on the wheel so as not to bump things. Fun stiff!

-Big E talks about seeing them more than he sees his family. He can’t even think about a day they won’t be together and is not sure what they would do. Kofi says then it would be time to ride off into the sunset. He says this is the most fun he has ever had in his career and thanks the other two. They joke about cutting their fingers and being blood brothers. They give compliments to the chef and that is how we end this one.

-Not as interesting as the Mania Legends one mainly due to the fact these guys are best friends and they just had fun talking about inside jokes which is fine. The few bits of stuff about the origins of New Day was interesting and again the show just flew by as they seemed to be having a blast.

-Next time it’s about some legendary ladies.
