411’s WWE Talking Smack Report: 11/22/16

-Another new Network related task for me as I will be doing my best to cover Talking Smack every Tuesday. For those unaware this show immediately follows SmackDown and is hosted by Renee Young with Daniel Bryan. They cover all the major happenings on SmackDown and are joined by various SmackDown Superstars.

-The show has been a great watch since the start as the guys and girls seem to have more freedom on the mic and it is kind of like a new school version of the onslaught of interviews we used to get on mid 80s Saturday Night on TBS.

-We are live with our host Renee Young and she is joined by SmackDown GM, Daniel Bryan. They immediately jump on the big story of Ellsworth beating AJ Styles in the ladder match to get a WWE Contract. Bryan mentions that Ellsworth also told Shane he wanted a WWE World Title match.

-Renee brings up Survivor Series and asks Bryan about his thoughts. He says that he was a little disappointed. He feels that even though they won the men’s match, he is upset with Dean/AJ and upset at himself for putting Shane in danger. On the women’s side he is bothered by the attack on Nikki Bella, but he won’t name who he thinks did it.

-Renee brings up Lesnar/Goldberg and Bryan says that he has had fun poking at RAW for bringing back Attitude Era stars, but he thought it was great. He puts over Goldberg for being a great man, and he has a huge amount of respect for him. The only thing that made him sad is that he feels he failed in management as he hasn’t gotten any of his guys to Goldberg’s level. He can see and believe that Goldberg belongs in the Mania Main Event and he wants that for his guys. He wants people to think of AJ and Dean as Main Event Mania guys and that isn’t their fault, but his.

-Back to the Men’s Survivor Series match as they discuss Randy and Bray being the final two. Bryan admits he felt Randy was taking a play out of his book and was going to turn on Wyatt, but instead he is taking spears for him.

-That leads to discussion of Orton and Bray being the final hurdle in Tag Team Turmoil and that brings out American Alpha. They say they should be #1 contenders because they won Tag Team Turmoil, and Bryan agrees, but he says he doesn’t call all the shots. So instead they get to face Bray and Orton next week to become next in line for Rhyno and Slater. Gable things Wyatt’s should have joined the gauntlet like the other tag teams. Man has a point!

-Renee wants to know how their strategy is going to change now. Gable says that Orton is going to eat 5 spears from Jordan next week. Renee asks what it will mean if they win next week heading into TLC and then compliments Gable on his hair flip. They say that backing each other for the best of the brand is over as their full attention is on the tag titles. Bryan says that if he had taken the top rope bulldog they did tonight it would have killed him. Renee wishes Alpha the best of luck and they exit.

-We switch topics to Baron Corbin and Bryan is angry about him costing SmackDown the Cruiserweight Division. Bryan uses big words that Renee isn’t familiar with, but basically he thinks Baron was selfish. He feels RAW is not using the Cruiserweights properly, and that nobody is getting to know who they are. He covers the back story of Rich Swann, and how people only know about his dancing. He has had a tough life and it was pro-wrestling that saved him. Bryan admits he is attached to them due to his work on the Cruiserweight Classic. He can relate to all of them because they all have been told they are too small to be in this business. He knows that fans don’t buy shows to see great wrestling, but instead they buy to see stars and they need to make the CW guys into stars. That is what bothers him about Corbin as the division coming to SD would help all of them.

-They bring Corbin out next and this should be fun as he has been great at being a supreme dick. Corbin is straight pissed here for being put in a match with Kane and then getting kicked in the face with a chair by Kalisto. Bryan says he doesn’t have a problem with what Kalisto did. Corbin says he did Bryan a favor as they don’t need the little CW guys flipping around here because fans wants guys like him, Goldberg, and Lesnar. Bryan says that he wanted to be Dean Malenko because he could do things Hulk Hogan could not do. Corbin is great here as he calls the CW guys little kids. Bryan makes the match right now as it will be Kalisto vs Corbin at TLC in a chairs match.

-Renee tries to cover what is set up for TLC, but Bryan doesn’t want to move on from Corbin yet. He says he cleared things with Kalisto first and that Kalisto is the one that wanted it to be a chairs match. Bryan says it does worry him to put Kalisto in that match, but he has a lot of heart. He knows that if people told him he couldn’t face Big Show, he would have been pissed so why should be hold Kalisto back.

-James Ellsworth is next out and he is selling all the beatings he has taken in the last few days. He brings the contract with him, and Daniel his him sign it to make it official. He thanks Daniel for the opportunity. Renee puts over what he did to help at Survivor Series and now he has won his contract. Bryan loves the attitude as James is a team player while also working to move his own career forward. James gives an injury update as his ribs aren’t broken, but are bruised and maybe cracked. He gets to be on ESPN tomorrow night with Dean, and James says that Dean is his buddy. James quotes Austin as he remembers him saying that if you are in the WWE and don’t want to be WWE Champion then there is no reason to be there. Daniel gives him an amen and they end the show with an “Ellsworth” chant.

-This was actually a bit disappointing as one of the best things has been the feud between The Miz and Bryan which wasn’t touched on here. Still, it was an enjoyable show that progressed things and had Bryan taking more shots at RAW which is always fun.

-See you next week!
