411’s Talking Smack Report: 11/29/16

-Welcome to another edition of Talking Smack on the WWE Network. We are a lot later than usual thanks to the debut of 205 Live which went longer than scheduled. Speaking of that show, Gallagher was great and Swann/Kendrick turned into a heck of a match. Props to both guys for getting a dead crowd into it. Swann with a great post match interview that really got the crowd behind him because it gave them a reason to care.

-SmackDown has TLC in 5 days as tonight was the go home show, and this show should continue the build towards Sunday.

-Renee Young (who looks fantastic) welcomes us to another edition of Talking Smack and instead of Daniel Bryan, her co-host is Mike Mizanin (as he wants to be called for this show).

-Miz tries to get Young to say Bryan is a horrible GM, but she won’t bite. This whole deal is weird as Mizanin keeps saying he has never been on the show, but The Miz has. Is this like some kind of rib on Hogan’s sex tape trial?

-They discuss the SmackDown Women’s Division, and Renee wants to know who Miz thinks is the top woman in both rosters and he obviously picks Maryse. Renee gives up and decided to bring out their first guest: Dolph Ziggler.

-Ziggler is wearing a “nWo” shirt, and digs at The Miz by saying Maryse won the title for him. He then starts playing along by referring to The Miz as if he wasn’t there and talking to Mike Mizanin instead. My head is ready to explode from this. This segment has been a mess as nobody seems to know what they want to ask, but Ziggler keeps harping on the fact that Maryse won the title for The Miz. Dolph throws in a nice shot as he says “The Real World” may show up Sunday to help Miz win the match. Fantastic! Dolph says that when he wins on Sunday, The Miz goes away and he can stay watching “real wrestlers” with Renee.

-Mizanin shoots back that Dolph always talks a good game to give his fans hope, but always comes up short. He says The Miz has never been injured in his career so he doesn’t have to worry about a ladder match. He wakes up each day telling himself “you are awesome.” He says the IC Title is the most prestigious title in the WWE and should be in the Main Event.

-Next we cover Bray and Randy beating American Alpha to become #1 contenders. They will face Slater and Rhino on Sunday for the SmackDown Tag Titles. Mizanin thinks Wyatt should watch his back as Orton is called The Viper for a reason.

-Becky Lynch joints the desk next as she says that he back hurts, but she has battled through worse. Mizanin is horrible here as he keeps talking over Becky before she can answer any of the questions, though she seems to stumble over what she wants to say. This show has been a train wreck for whatever reason.

-Apparently Renee has gotten a text from Daniel Bryan who is making it official that Lynch/Bliss will be a Tables Match at TLC. Becky says she will throw Bliss through 40 tables on Sunday if she has to. Renee asks about the RAW Women’s Division. Becky says that the RAW division has been around longer, but the SmackDown division will get there as they are new. Becky cuts a final promo on Bliss as she calls herself a honey badger.

-Mizanin and Renee discuss how RAW is trying to upstage SmackDown’s women by having a falls count anywhere match last night. Mizanin thinks SmackDown is being held down by their GM. They have James Ellsworth in the Main Event because Daniel Bryan relates to him. Ellsworth doesn’t belong in the same sentence with AJ Styles. Mizanin wants to know why people like Hawkins, Ryder, and Crewes are being wasted on SmackDown while Ellsworth gets Main Event pushes.

-AJ Styles is out next and he says everyone hates Ellsworth except one guy, who Renee knows well, Dean Ambrose. Mizanin puts over AJ and mentions he has been in the ring with AJ and Renee asks when that happened. AJ and Miz rightly shoot her down for not watching SmackDown as it happened earlier in the year. AJ says he has wrestled for 18 years and he has experience in matches like TLC. He is going to use anything he can to keep Dean Ambrose down. He puts over Mizanin for being a better host than Daniel Bryan. He isn’t going to lash out at Bryan because everything stops with Shane McMahon.

-Renee wants to know if AJ felt bad about beating the piss out of Ellsworth and Mizanin answers the question for him. AJ doesn’t think Dean even cares about Ellsworth. AJ says that Dean is going to go through a lot of pain on Sunday because he has a lot to prove. AJ Styles is a winner and he will find a way to win. He drops the mic on that note and walks off.

-They quickly run down the card for Sunday, and we are out!

-Again this was a weird one as for whatever reason The Miz just didn’t work in this spot. The shows have been much better with the Byran/Renee dynamic and then The Miz coming in to “shoot.” Even Renee seemed a little off here, and none of the guests really got to say much thanks to Mizanin. Definitely one of the weaker Talking Smack episodes.
