RATING: ***½ {Fun opening match, and overall good work from both. It suffers a bit for the fact that Tanaka won with a submission that he never set up with any work. I get that it’s his finish, but I would have appreciated the body of the match setting that up.}

* We get a video package for Team 3D, from Slammiversary 2007. Bully Ray was like, 70 pounds heavier then.

* EC3 arrives earlier today. He destroyed Spud when he fired him on Impact. EC3 says he found a replacement for Spud, and he will debut on this week’s impact. He has been with TNA for a year, and in undefeated. Tonight Hama, a large athlete, but the bigger they are, the more impressive the victory. Tonight he takes his undefeated streak worldwide.

* Carter cuts a pre-match promo. They chant for him and he says finally, a country that respects him. He then mocks the crowd and speaks slowly so that they can understand. “Me EC3, Me very good. Me undefeated.” Now for those that speak English. He is EC3; he is undefeated because he’s the greatest wrestler alive today. He has defeated every TNA hall of famer; he defeated Sting, he defeated Kurt Angle and he defeated Bully Ray. * Team 3D moment from Lockdown 2009.

* Last night MVP cut a promo about being a fan of the art of wrestling. He says he walked away from a multi-million dollar deal to go to Japan. He wanted a challenge, and the best wrestlers are in Japan. His favorite wrestlers were Japanese, so he had to test himself. His heroes were Chono, Misawa, Kawada and Muta; they strike fear into a sports entertainer. He had to confront what others fear. He had to make his name in Japan and did when he won gold. And now he is back, and while he doesn’t know a lot about Sakamoto, he’s not impressed.

* Samoa Joe comments on tonight’s match. He is in Japan, contemplating why he is here and why he is defending the title. He has set out to bring respect back to the greatest division in wrestling, the X-Division. He has defeated challenger after challenger, and tonight he has two. Low Ki and Kaz Hayashi will do what ever it takes to win titles in this business. Gentlemen, be prepared to raise your level, and be prepared to be disappointed.

TNA X-Division Title Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Low Ki vs. Kaz Hayashi: Joe and Ki trade kicks, Ki then connects with a kick to Hayashi and then Joe and Ki trade chops. * We get highlights from the match. Post match, Joe cuts a promo with Borash. Joe speaks some Japanese, and says he is Samoa Joe. A long time ago he had his first match in this building, and has loved this place and the fans ever since. TNA here is to bring the wrestling world together. * Team 3D moment, putting Dixie Carter through a table.

Andy Wu and Hijo Del Pantera vs. Kuroshio Ikemen Jiro and Yusuke Kodama: This one maybe rough for me to keep the guys straight. Wu and Kuroshio to begin. Kuroshio wears his jacket as he wrestles and appears to be an odd mix of Brian Kendrick’s Japan gimmick (Leonardo Spanky) and Tyler Breeze. OFFICIAL RESULT: Kuroshio Ikemen Jiro and Yusuke Kodama @ 9:00 via pin
RATING: **¾ {This was a fun, but at times sloppy little sprint with some wacky characters. No real complaints overall, especially with no expectations going into the match.}

* We get highlights from the Team 3D hall of fame ceremony.

Bully Ray and Devon vs. Tommy Dreamer and Abyss : Team 3D came in through the crowd. The crowd then chanted for tables before the bell even sounded. Abyss then tags himself in, and demands to go one on one with Bully. Bully tags in and here we go. They trade big rights center ring, Bully then with repeated rights, and then the uranage on Abyss. Dreamer with kendo stick shots to both, but runs into the 3D, partly on the tacks and that is all.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Bully Ray and Devon vs. Tommy Dreamer @ 13:00 via pin
RATING: * {I did not enjoy this at all. The beginning part of the match with the “wrestling” was slow and uninspired. They went into playing he hits mode, with the hardcore stuff, which woke up the crowd> But I felt that it was generally slow did nothing to get me invested in what they were doing. Abyss is painful to watch these days. The whole thing just felt lazy to me. It’s a shame they couldn’t have had better opponents for Team 3D to work with if this is their last night with the company. The fact that guys like Aries and Roode are sitting at home at a Bound For Glory is disappointing. The good news is that the live crowd seemed to enjoy it, and if you did, that is cool.}

* Post match, Bully thanks all of the wrestling fans, and they get a thank you chant as well as a TNA chant. Bully says they went into the TNA hall of fame last night, and that is because of the wrestling fans. For 20-years they have been wrestlers, and they are thankful for that. They love to perform in Tokyo, Japan. Bully thanks the fans, and Devon drops an “oh my brother, testify.”

* Velvet Sky discusses performing in Japan, and says everyone is really nice here. She faces Havok tonight, and while she may be the underdog, she will fight because she’s not afraid.

TNA Knockouts Title Match: Havok © vs. Velvet Sky: Havok runs at Sky a few times, forearms by Sky follow and then leg kicks. She tries a clothesline but bounces off Havok. More kicks follow for Sky, and then hits a double sledge off the ropes. She does it again and then a third time. She connects with it for the fourth time, off the ropes and tries a cross body but Havok catches her and hits a back breaker. Clubbing shots by Havok follow and she then chokes out Sky in the ropes. Sky gets a head scissors, heads to the second rope and hits the high cross and covers for 2. Sky leaps off the ropes again, Havok catches her in the bear hug and rag dolls her and Sky submits.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Havok @ 6:00 via submission
RATING: * {Overall not a good match. The work was slow, sloppy and nothing really clicked. The finish being as weak as it was also hurt the match.}

* We see James Storm earlier today. He’s in a sanctuary and discusses people looking for salvation. Sanada decided that Muta was not the way, and he has been reborn under Storm. The Revolution will cut down Tajiri and Muta. He adds that there is always room for one more in the Revolution.

* Storm cuts a promo, calling himself the Legend James Storm. The fans can boo him all he wants, but he took one of their own, a boy that was lost and didn’t know his way and turned him against his mentor, The Great Muta. He says to stand up and show respect for the Great Sanada.

Great Muta and Tajiri vs. Sanada and James Storm : Tajiri and Muta both blew mist at the bell. Sanada and Muta to begin. Slow beginning as Muta gets a go behind. Counters by both and a single leg takedown for Muta. He works the leg of Sanada, into a knee bar and Sanada rolls and gets the ropes. They circle, lock up and a full nelson by Muta. He then works the arm; Sanada rolls out and then gets a side headlock takedown. Sanada escapes and blows some mist. Storm and Tajiri tag in now. Lock up and Storm shoves Tajiri to the mat. Tajiri looks to take the leg, but Storm cuts him off, but then leg kicks by Tajiri. Off the ropes and Tajiri grabs Storm’s beard, but Storm back with a clothesline. Tags in Sanada, double sledge to the arm of Tajiri and then chokes him out in the ropes. Tajiri fights back, takes Sanada to the floor and Tajiri follows. Sanada under the ring, Tajiri chases him and Muta and Storm look puzzled. They re-appear as Sanada has part of his gear and chokes out Tajiri. OFFICIAL RESULT: Great Muta and Tajiri @ 11:00 via pin
RATING: *½ {As a match, it was not good. It was slow and not even the mist and Muta trademark stuff could save it. As a PPV main event, it was horrible and not even close to the level of acceptable, let alone a proper way to end the show. This had next to no heat, and not in that Japanese way, there was next to no reaction when Muta kicked out of Sanada’s moonsault, which was the big spot in the match. This was easily one of the worst PPV main events of the year. Considering this was the one match that they actually built to with Storm turning Sanada, the whole thing came off as a disappointment.}

* Storm attacks Muta and Tajiri post match. Manik arrives and they start to beat down Muta. Storm has the bullrope and chokes out Muta. Team 3D’s music hits and they hit the ring to make the save. 3D beats down Storm and his revolution, mist from Muta and then they hit the 3D on Storm.

* Team 3D and Muta stand tall. Muta leaves 3D in the ring to celebrate.

* End scene at 10:41PM ET.

* Thanks for reading.
