411’s IMPACT WRESTLING REPORT 10.08.14

* Highlights of the tag team title series, which will finish up tonight.

* Bobby Roode makes his way to the ring. Roode says he wants to make something clear, and that is that he will not give up on his dream of becoming TNA Champion. He asked Lashley for one more match last week, but he had to listen to MVP give the answers. Roode will stand there until Lashley comes out and gives him his answer. MVP and Kenny King make their way out to the ring. MVP says he thought they spoke English in Canada, or maybe they do and Roode is too stupid to understand. Roode says he wants to talk with Lashley. MVP says Roode got his chance and he lost, just like Hardy, Aries and Young lost when they challenged Lashley. MVP says the answer is still no. Roode cuts them off before they leave and asks them how their drive to the building was. MVP says uneventful. Roode asks if they were driving Lashley’s car and fed him drinks. Roode says he knows what it is like to be the champion and that’s why he wants the rematch. But MVP and King are lackeys. Hanging around the champion, being his friends because they don’t have what it takes to be champion. Roode will do whatever it takes to be the champion. MVP says he won’t stir up shit between them, and King says that Roode would do whatever it took. MVP and king have a conference, and then say that they can give Roode an opportunity. If he can beat King and himself tonight, at the same time that is. But then MVP says there is a catch, if Roode loses, “when he loses” Roode never gets a title shot. MVP asks if he’s willing to do whatever it takes, and agrees.

* Highlights of Havok winning the Knockouts Title last week.

* Gail Kim is not cleared to compete tonight.

#1 Contender’s Match: Angelina Love w/Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne vs. Taryn Terrell: The beautiful People attack Terrell pre-match as Rayne makes her way to the ring. Terrell to the floor and Love and Rayne battle. Back elbow by Love and a clothesline follows. Terrell back in, drop toehold to Love and then a monkey flip. She and Rayne suplex Love, Terrell covers, but then fights with Rayne over the cover. They take Love down with back elbows, and then a roll up by Rayne on Terrell for 2. They exchange pinning combos, and Love eventually breaks that up. She poses and then eats rights from both Terrell and Rayne. Sky trips up Rayne and pulls her to the floor. Love takes over on Terrell, rights follow. Love tries to rip out Terrell’s hair, and then hits a dropkick and covers for 2. Love then charges Terrell, misses and posts herself. Clotheslines by Terrell follow, boot and then the front flip neck breaker, but Rayne breaks that up. Rayne sends Terrell to the corner, boot to Rayne and then a second rope clothesline. Suplex by Terrell, she heads up top, high cross to both opponents. Terrell avoids the botox injection and hits the cutter on Love, but Rayne sneaks in with the cradle and the tights for the win.

* Havok appears post match and heads into the ring. Terrell attacks and gets leveled by Havok as Rayne bails. Havok then hits a chokeslam on Terrell and stands tall as Rayne watches on from the ramp.

* King and MVP discuss the plan for Roode. Lashley walks in, and they tell him that they know he’ll fight anyone, but that they will take care of Roode for him.

* We get a video package of Sanada’s journey in TNA.

James Storm and The Great Sanada w/Manik vs. Low Ki and Tigre Uno: Storm and Ki to begin. Leg kicks by Ki, so Storm tags in Sanada. They do some mat work, and then rights by Sanada to take control. Kicks by Ki follow and then a snap mare and cover for 2. Tag to Uno, chops to Sanada follow. Off the ropes and a dropkick by Uno. Cradle follows for 2. Storm distracts the ref, Manik sneaks in and attacks Uno and then Storm tags in. Storm works over Uno, connecting with rights and then boots. He then slaps Uno around, tags in Sanada who leaps in with the double axe handle to the arm of Uno. Chinlock by Sanada, Uno fights to his feet and elbows out. Sanada rakes the eyes, but misses a corner splash and eats a kick by Uno. Both men are down here, tags to Storm and Ki. Ki runs wild with clotheslines and kicks. To the corner, clothesline by Ki and then elbows follow. Storm scoops up Ki, but Ki gets a sunset flip and double foot stomp and covers for 2. Ki Krusher try, Manik distracts him and Storm hits a backstabber and that gets a close 2. Whirly bid by Storm, Uno tagged in and Ki escapes and hits a dropkick. Uno then gets tossed into a RANA by Ki and that gets 2 as Sanada makes the save. Ki with the dropkick to Manik, Uno up top, MIST by Sanada. Storm with the superkick and that is all.

* Storm’s revolution celebrate the victory.

* Gunner and Shaw discuss that Shaw has to face Bram tonight. Shaw wants to make Gunner proud, and shows off his tattoos because he wants to be just like Gunner. Gunner says he should be himself, while Shaw wants him to be more supportive.

No DQ Match: Samuel Shaw vs. Bram: They start on the floor as Shaw attacks Bram with the trashcan lid. Into the ring they go and Shaw dropkicks a trashcan into Bram’s face. He then wedges a chair in the corner, attacks Bram with rights and kicks in the corner. Bram then slides to the floor and Shaw in control with rights. Knees by Bram, and then slams Shaw into the barricade. Bram then slams Shaw to the apron and then the post. He misses a shot with the metal part of the buckle, and Shaw then slams Bram into the post. Shaw then grabs a chair and nails Bram in the gut with it. A shot to the back follows, as Shaw tosses the chair into the ring. He then tosses more chairs into the ring, sets up the chairs and Bram attacks with a kendo stick. Rights follow and then Bram beats down Shaw in the corner. He sets Shaw up top, follow sup him and looks for a superplex. Shaw blocks it, rights to the body follow and then hits the sunset flip powerbomb into the pile of chairs. Shaw looks for the standing choke, but Bram blocks it and slams Shaw into the chair that was wedged in the corner. Bram then KOs Shaw with the metal part of the turnbuckle and that is all.

* Brittany comes out to check on Shaw.

* Roode prepares for his big match tonight. He knows what he agreed to, but also knows what he wants. He hasn’t been able to sleep since losing to Lashley, so tonight; he accepted the offer and will kick the door in and get his title shot.

* We get a promo from Team 3D discussing tonight’s match. The Wolves arrive and cut them off, noting that to be the man you got to beat the man. The Wolves are the champions, and they may be crazy, but they will find out tonight. And when they win tonight, they will have defeated 3D and the Hardys in the match that they made famous.

If Roode Beats Both Men He Gets a Title Shot at Lashley: Bobby Roode vs. MVP and Kenny King: MVP and King question if this is what Roode wants, and they give him the chance to walk away. Roode attacks King, so I guess that’s a no. They take control and beat down Roode with elbows and kicks. Off the ropes and the double back elbows connect, and then King lays the boots to Roode. Off the ropes and a spin kick by King follows, and a cover gets 2. Roode turns the tide, battles back and hits the Russian leg sweep on MVP for 2 as King makes the save. They then toss Roode to the floor, and then slam him to the steel steps. MVP mocks Roode as he lays the boots to him on the floor. King also adds in some insults as they toss Roode back into the ring. King accidentally hits MVP as Roode moves, allowing Roode to mount a comeback. He tosses King to the floor, and then MVP with the corner kick. Fisherman’s suplex follows and a cover gets 2. MVP sets, misses the shining wizard and Roode rolls him up for three!

One down for Roode, as King is right back in and starts to beat down Roode. King chokes him out in the corner, but Roode back with rights. Boot by King, but Roode then shoots him off the ropes, reversal and MVP trips up Roode. Cradle suplex by King follows and the cover gets 2. The ref sends MVP to the back, clotheslines by Roode connect and then the high knee and another clothesline. Blockbuster connects for Roode, and the cover gets 2. Jawbreaker by King and then stuns Roode off the ropes. King tries to springboard in, gets caught, ROODE BOMB connects but Lashley is out for the DQ.

* Lashley then hits the spear on Roode and stands tall.

* EC3 says business comes before friendship. But tonight, he will give Rockstar Spud one last chance to prove himself.

* Ethan Carter III is out in the ring. He has been in TNA for a year, and is undefeated. He’s had victory after victory, after victory, after victory, after victory, after victory, after victory after victory! As a winner, he has vanquished all that have failed him. Tonight, he gives Rockstar Spud the chance to make things right. Spud makes his way out to the ring, and Carter says he has failed him. But he will give him a chance to redeem himself tonight. Spud says that he has apologized for what happened to Dixie. Spud says he is his best friend, but Carter says that Spud needs to prove it. Spud says he will, because he knows everything about him. Carter loves green because he loves money. The thermostat at the hotel needs to be 71 degrees. He hates when the crowd tells him that he cannot wrestle. “He disagrees, he thinks he is very good.” Carter says that is why Spud is such a loyal employee. But as the employer, he cannot forgive that Dixie went through the table. Spud was operation human shield, and when he was needed the most, he fainted, and then failed. Spud is a loser like the fans are losers. Spud disagrees, but Carter calls him a loser again. Spud says he is ROCKSTAR SPUD! Carter says that Spud is a failure and pie-faces him to the mat. He then slaps him and repeatedly calls him a loser and Spud fires back and slaps the shit out of Carter! Carter says Spud has heart, and that is why this is now sweeter, you’re fired!

* Backstage MVP tells Lashley that everything worked out perfectly tonight. Kurt Angle arrived and says that MVP doesn’t call the shots anymore. Angle then says that Roode will have a chance to earn a title shot next week, and adds that MVP better not come anywhere near that match.

Full Metal Mayhem Tag Team Title Match: The Wolves © (Richards and Edwards) vs. The Hardys (Matt and Jeff) vs. Team 3D (Bully Ray and Devon): The bell rings, they have a brief stand off and then start brawling. They actually discuss Richards having a leg injury, but that he has been cleared to perform. Edwards beats down Matt in the ring as 3D look to set up some tables. Taz notes that Devon is banged up with a groin injury. As they brawling around the ring continues, Matt tries to sneak up the ladder, but Ray cuts him off. He then tries to climb, but Richards is in and lays in some kicks and a DDT to put a stoop to that. Richards climbs, but Jeff in to stop that and then Devon slides in and pulls Jeff off of the ladder. Devon climbs, Matt stops him and connects with a clothesline. Matt then slams Edwards onto a chair, moves the ladder and sets up some chairs center ring. Richards then slams a chair into the face of Matt and Edwards with a German suplex onto the chairs that Matt had set up, which had to suck. Ray pulls Matt to the floor, Jeff into the ring and the Wolves work him over. Ray in and he and Edwards get a 3D on Jeff. Ray looked surprised, they trade chops and then Matt is in and clotheslines them both. Edwards cuts off Devon and then Ray has Matt on his shoulders. Edwards up top and Matt grabs him and we gets a doomsday superplex spot. Devon and Richards to the floor, Devon sets up the steps and makes a bridge with a piece of guardrail. To the apron, he grabs Richards and looks for a suplex, Richards fights it off and head butts Devon who falls on the guardrail. Richards heads up top and Ray cuts him off. Tries a powerbomb, but Richards escapes but runs onto a back elbow. Bully then powerbombs Richards ONTO THE GUARDRAIL BRIDGE as Devon had bailed. We head to a commercial…

Back from commercial as the Hardys are in control. Jeff then looks for poetry in motion, but Edwards threw a ladder into his face. Chair shots by Devon follow that as he beats down anyone that moves. He grabs the ladder and starts to climb. Chair shot by Edwards to cut that off and then Matt joins in with him and they beat down Devon with chair shots. Edwards and Matt swing at each other, chairs collide and fall to the mat. They then clothesline each other and roll to the floor. Whisper in the wind by Jeff onto Ray, SWANTON follows! Jeff moves the bent up guardrail and then hits a twist of fate on Ray on the floor. Jeff then makes a bridge with a table and the steps. He has the table upside down and puts up the legs. He slams Ray to the steps, and bends him over the table. Jeff up top, leaps off and MISSES the leg drop from the top and crashes and burns through the table! Ray now into the ring and looks to climb. Edwards sets up another ladder, as does Matt. Three-way climb ensues, they brawl at the top as they look to grab the titles. Matt and Ray double hip toss Edwards off the top and to the mat. Matt and Ray battle on top, they trade rights and then end up shoving each other off as they crash to the mat. Richards is alive and crawls into the ring. He starts to climb a ladder, Matt stops that and pulls him down. Twist of fate connects for Matt and he then sets up a table. He tosses Richards to the floor, and then slam shim to the post and lays him on a table on the floor. Matt climbs a big old ladder on the floor, LEG DROP destroys Richards and both men are now down. Devon back in the ring and nails Edwards with the ladder a few times. Ray tosses in the giant ladder, and Devon sets it up. Devon climbs, Edwards is back in and pulls him off and they trade rights. Ray in, slams Edwards down and Devon heads up top. WAZZUP countered as Jeff tosses Devon off the top through tables on the floor! Ray checks on Devon, who is down and out and we see Edwards climb the ladder. Ray topples the ladder over and Edwards falls all the way to the floor! Jeff in the ruing, they blow a dropkick spot with the chair, and then Jeff hits Ray and takes him out. Jeff then climbs the giant ladder as Matt beats down Ray and places him on a table on the floor. Matt up top, moonsault countered by Richards. Richards then topples the giant ladder, sending Jeff over the ropes and onto Ray who was laid out on the tables! Everyone is dead. Nope, Richards is alive and climbs now. Matt is somehow alive and also climbs! They trade rights, Edwards is in and attacks Matt on the ladder and then powerbombs him off and through a table! That allows Richards to grab the titles and the Wolves retain.
