411’s Tough Enough Report: July 14, 2015

-Last week was interesting as we had Dianna walk out on the contest as she wanted to plan her wedding, and Daria had no chance in the fan vote against ZZ and Sara Lee. The rest of the contestants should hope and pray if they ever make the bottom 3 that they don’t see those two in there with them. Also last week was rather pitiful as far as in ring training being shown, so hopefully they make up for it this week.

-As a reminder the finalists left are: Joshua, Mada, Patrick, Tanner, and ZZ for the guys, and Amanda, Gabi, Giorgia, and Sara for the women.

-We are live from Full Sail with our host, Chris Jericho and the beautiful, Renee Young. They introduce our 3 judges in Daniel Bryan, Paige, and Hulk Hogan. Bryan jokes that each person he has put in the bottom 3 has been eliminated and that makes Paige sad as she wants to send someone home. She also makes threats once again at our Sara Lee to step up or she will be gone. Hogan says he has his eyes on one person who needs to get out of here, but doesn’t say who that is.

-Renee covers the rules of elimination, and Jericho goes over Dianna leaving and Daria being cut last week.

-We head to the barracks and we met Chelsea, who is replacing Dianna. She was in the final 14 of the initial training and thanks Dianna for leaving. She feels she deserves this and that she has been training her ass off for the last 2 years to get to the WWE.

-Amanda and Gabi immediately start going at it verbally. Gabi gets in a shot about Amanda’s breast implants and
Sara Lee rightly points out they are fighting over fake boobs, which they both have. Chelsea wants to know if this is what she signed up for, and yes, yes you did.

-The next morning arrives and they head to the Performance Center. Booker says today they are working on promos. The contestants are shown iconic promos (though only just catchphrases from Hogan, Flair, Jericho, and The Rock). The special guest this week to help them is King Barrett, and he mentions there are 3 King of the Ring winners in the ring including Booker and Billy Gunn. He then cuts a promo on them to demonstrate to the contestants what they need to do. So I guess this is a no on the in ring work stuff happening.

-They all have to cut a promo saying why they will be the King of The Ring or Queen of the Ring winner next year. We blaze through each one, and Sara does a pretty good job as gets props from Barrett and Mada is intense so Barrett tells him to settle down.

-Next they head to an improv club where Jericho heads out on the stage. You can see where this one is going and this could be rather embarrassing to watch. Jericho tells them they will all be paired off and have to cut promos on each other face to face.

-The first battle is Mada vs. Josh: Once again Mada is super intense as The Pharoah, and Josh goes with his British Brawler character. The crowd gives the win to Mada and I agree.

-Next we have Chelsea vs. Giorgia and this isn’t much of a contest as Giorgia smokes her. Chelsea completely bombed and the crowd just looked bored.

-Josh vs. Patrick which could be interesting. As Patrick mentioned, Josh has the personality of a pear, and gets owned here. Patrick cuts promo that just buries Josh’s passion for the business, and even mentions that outside Brock Lesnar, MMA fighters don’t do well in the WWE. Easy win for Patrick there.

-Gabi vs. Amanda as you would have guessed. Gabi struggles big time and Amanda uses her personal feelings to tear into her and finishes by calling her a bitch. Amanda takes that one.

-Finally we get Sara Lee vs. ZZ as America weeps seeing their 2 darlings battle head to head. Sara Lee doesn’t do as well here as she did with Barrett. Jericho tells ZZ he has personality but will need to switch gears at times instead of just being the funny man. He then lays into Sara Lee and says he is pissed off that she is still here as he feels she should have been eliminated already. It looks like he is just trying to bring something out of her, and all she can do is laugh and smile. He then seems to get legit pissed as he wants her to stop being nice and step up. She tries all she can, and stops smiling, but I just don’t know if it is in her. Again though, does it have to be?

-We go back to Full Sail and the judges talk about Sara Lee. Paige again says she doesn’t belong here, and it is frustrating to watch. Hogan says she is trying and Paige says she isn’t as we head to a break.

-Back to the improv and the crowd gets to pick who they feel had the best overall promo. Mada gets a piss load of cheers, but Patrick seems to have edged him out. He wins it for the guys, and Giorgia for the ladies. Mada says that he and Josh were cutting real promos while Patrick was just speaking to the crowd.

-Mada and Josh confront Patrick and things get crazy with drinks being thrown and people getting into each other’s face. Patrick goes off as he tells Mada this isn’t the 1980s and that The Ultimate Warrior is gone (damn) and that Hulk Hogan is retired (damn damn). This is about the little guys outworking the big guys, and that all Mada can do is lift. He then calls Josh a sidekick and we get more pushing and shoving. That was pretty awesome and I wonder if any of those comments will come back to bit him in the ass.

-The girls all pick on how Gabi seems to be holding back in challenges. She says she was holding back on Amanda out of professionalism and Amanda just laughs.

-Now we get to Tanner and Chelsea hitting on each other. Tanner struck out with Sara Lee so now he is moving on to Chelsea. He suckers her into a hug and then turns that into a kiss.

-Back to Full Sail where Hogan and Paige say he had no game with that move and Daniel thought it was rather smooth. We take another break.

-We come back to the Performance Center and please give me some in ring training. They do just that as they are going to work on slamming each other instead of bags and working on shoulder tackles. Josh says they have been working on rolls, and bumps and now they finally get to put things together.

-Sara Lee has an issue getting picked up as she hangs on to the other girls. She knows it is because she doesn’t trust the other girls not to drop her. This has been a bad week for Sara so far and you can just tell Paige is going to kill her.

-Amanda and Gabi work well together and Lita commends them for doing so even with their personal issues. It’s not like Matt working with Edge or anything, but it’s something I guess.

-Back to Sara Lee as her eternal struggle with properly letting someone pick her up for a slam. Gunn looks like he is ready to lose his mind, and Booker tells him to relax. She is coming at it in a way that she is basically turning into a tombstone. Gunn reams her out once again as he is worried that she is going to hurt someone. He tells her to get things out of her head or get out of his ring.

-The winners are Chelsea for the girls and Josh for the guys. Patrick says he is still the man and that Josh only won because it was an award for being the most improved.

-We are back and the girls are trying to help a broken Sara Lee. The tears are flowing and she apologizes to Giorgia for being stuck with her. The girls talk about the verbal beating she has taken the last few days and that while she didn’t want to let people know it was getting to her, it is. She cries as she says that she doesn’t have an acting background or gymnastics background so it may not look like she is trying, but she really is. I do feel bad for the girl as she seems like a sweet person, but as Gunn said this may not be the best job for her.

-Back live and Jericho says he doesn’t feel bad for her. There is a difference between yelling and trying to pull something out of someone. He just hopes she gets it before it is too late.

-The contestants are introduced to the Full Sail crowd, and as has been a custom, Sara Lee and ZZ get the best reaction. We take another break and it gives me a chance to check on the All Star Game. I need the Pirates to have home field in the World Series, so come on NL.

-Back to Full Sail and Paige immediately calls out Sara Lee as you would expect. She rips into her as she is not even angry anymore and is just disappointed. She wants to know why Sara Lee wants to be her. She actually shows some backbone and stands up to Paige for a change which is nice to see. Hogan gives her props for showing a spark in her issue with Jericho, but says she needs to keep going with it instead of stopping.

-Hogan then says Mada won the promo battle in his eyes. He then turns his attention to Patrick and yes, this should be awesome. He destroys Patrick for calling out bigger guys and saying that Warrior is gone and he is retired. He tells Patrick that even with 9 back surgeries he could own him in that ring, and that you don’t work someone, you work with someone in that ring. Damn right Hulk! Patrick says he is tired of everyone knowing he is the guy who knows the history of the business and Paige rightly points out that is all he ever says. Hogan says his promo sucked and Jericho butts in to say that Patrick did win the fan vote, and Hogan retorts that it was nothing more than Patrick being himself and saying the same things he always says. That is why he liked Mada’s better. He wants Patrick to show something more than “smart mark Patrick.” Hogan vs. The IWC and I am with Hogan on this one (though I am Hogan mark).

-Jericho has Josh spell sarcophagus and he butchers it (a call back to his promo against Mada). Paige does spell it correctly and that just seemed like a way to cut the tension.

-The judges make their picks and our National Treasure, Sara Lee is once again singled out by Paige. There are two fresh faces this week as Bryan picks Gabi (bad sign for her) and Hogan picks Tanner in what is kind of a shock. Should have made Patrick squirm a little there, and I could totally see Bryan using his save on Tanner.

-They give Gabi 30 seconds to cut a promo and she is absolutely horrible. She doesn’t even real cut a promo, and instead just explains to Bryan why she deserves to be there. I guess she really doesn’t know what a promo is.

-Tanner next as he cuts one on Hulk Hogan which has to be kind of nerve racking. Hogan wants Tanner to light him up and he starts out by saying Hogan is one of the greatest ever and he can learn a lot from him. Ugh! The guy just gave you a free chance to tear into him and you start like that?

-Now to the Main Event as Sara Lee gets her chance to cut into Paige, and really if she called her a bitch for 30 seconds I think that would be a win for everyone. Paige included! The crowd gets into this one and Sara can’t help but smile as she starts. Paige gives her some applause by the time the promo is finished. Seriously, she just can’t be mean, and again, is that really a bad thing?

-We go over the voting methods as we take a break. I think Gabi is toast here, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Tanner is sent packing either. I do think Sara Lee is safe because America loves her, and I want Paige vs. Sara Lee to continue.

-The voting is officially closed and Jericho asks the judges if they want to use any of their saves. Nobody uses a save, so all three are on the chopping block.

-The format changes this week as Jericho goes up to Sara Lee and lets her know that she is not going home. Then we get the traditional revealing of the audience vote, and yep, America loves Sara Lee as she got 63% of the vote. Tanner gets 26% and that means with 11%, Gabi is heading back to Brazil.

-Gabi says she is kind of happy that she is leaving the show and she wants to see Sara Lee win the entire thing. Renee seemed stunned that Gabi basically admitted she was happy that she was off the show, and right there shows America made the right choice. I am still perfect in picking who in the bottom three is heading home though it hasn’t really been a challenge.

-This show ended up being more entertaining as we get a little in ring work, and the promo stuff was easier to watch than I expected. The Patrick shoot on WWE 80s big men was classic, and Hogan didn’t disappoint with his response. Mada is sneaking up on everyone in this thing, and Chelsea is now a wildcard on the woman’s side. With that said, Sara Lee and ZZ are sitting pretty as they are clearly getting the fan support.

-See you all next week!
