411’s Tough Enough Report: 07/28/15

-So anything newsworthy happen in our world of pro-wrestling since we last met? No, well okay then we will just move on to the newest edition of WWE Tough Enough. Last week Patrick was eliminated in a bit of a shock, and almost nearly as shocking ZZ didn’t get the most votes. That may not bode well for him in the future as it could mean America is starting to grow tired of the big man.

-As a reminder the finalists left are: Joshua, Mada, Tanner, and ZZ for the guys, and Amanda, Giorgia, Chelsea, Sara for the women.

-We are live from Full Sail University with our host Chris Jericho and Renee Young. They introduce our judges: Daniel Bryan, Paige (sitting in Hogan’s seat) and The Miz. Really? All the rumors about Flair, Michaels, Austin, and Hart, and yet we get The Miz? I mean it makes sense since he hosts Tough Talk, but that is a major letdown.

-We head to the barracks and ZZ is making sandwiches. He makes one for Patrick and leaves him 2 shots of milk. He says he is going to make Patrick proud and win this for him. He promises to get in shape and win this thing. The next morning comes and ZZ is working out knowing 2 weeks isn’t going to make a big difference, but he has to start somewhere.

-The rest discuss Patrick’s elimination and somehow out of that it is mentioned that Chelsea dyed her hair to a lighter shade of blonde. Amanda feels threatened as she is the true blonde on this show.

-We head to the next day and challenge where it looks like another type of obstacle course. The special guest this week is Cesaro and he is just rocking a pimp suit while out in the middle of the woods. The concept this week is focus. They have to move from platform to platform via rope bridges, and while doing so they have to remember numbers on each platform that will open a safe. The winner is whoever opens the safe and they get to keep what is inside.

-Sara is up first and Billy talks to her while she is heading through the course and he makes sure to toss out numbers to try to confuse her. She is doing rather well and Billy compliments her on how she is doing, but he eventually gets to her and she forgets the numbers. Amanda is next and she bombs as well. Chelsea gets through the course quickly, but she can’t remember the numbers to crack the safe either. Last on the female side is Giorgia, and she learns from the others as she doesn’t listen to or answer a thing Billy says to her. She does crack the safe, but Billy tells her not to get too excited as she showed no personality and part of wrestling is showing personality in the ring while staying focused.

-The men up next and we start off with Mada who says he has a great memory, but it is hard with Billy yelling at him. Sure enough he is screwed as he can’t crack the safe. ZZ seems to be doing ok, but he forgets the numbers as well, so he is out. Tanner next and now Booker is getting in on the action as he keeps repeating that he is a 5 time Champion. Tanner doesn’t let it bother him and he cracks the code. Josh is last and he struggles getting through the course as he slips, but he does remember the code and cracks the safe.

-Tanner is announced as the overall winner as he had the fastest time, and they applaud ZZ for not finishing last (he was second to last). Mada finishes last and he is rather disappointed in himself. Chelsea beat Giorgia in time, but wasn’t able to crack the safe. We then find out that Tanner received an autographed copy of Jericho’s new book with something inspirational written in it by Jericho.

-We head back to Full Sail where Bryan gets in a plug for his book while saying he is a bit bitter it wasn’t given away to the winner. The Miz crushes ZZ for eating PB&J sandwiches while they have been telling him to get fit. Renee informs us that team B.A.D. will be in the house tonight as we head to commercial.

-We come back and Renee goes over the now famous Rules of Elimination. We’re still waiting on one of those judge saves.

-Back to the barracks where Tanner and Chelsea share a hot tub. She says he wants to see more personality and charisma out of him. Tanner tells her he just wants to be a quiet badass. He says it’s not that he doesn’t want to cut promos, but that he needs to learn it. She asks him to cut a promo on her bikini and we get some weird pickup lines that would make Daniel Bryan happy.

-The next day to the performance center where they work out in the ring with crowd noise pumped in to distract them. Gunn also screams out what he wants to do so they must stay focused on him while tuning out the noise. This is actually a decent drill and some of them are struggling with the noise. ZZ and Mada are paired and it seems ZZ is having issues and Mada is getting pissed as it is making him look bad. Chelsea gets named as the winner for the women and Josh gets picked as the winner for the men.

-Back to Full Sail and the judges banter about what they just saw. The Miz calls Tanner out for his weak game while in the hot tub with Chelsea. Dude would know proper hot tub etiquette considering where he got his start. We take a break.

-We are back to the barracks and the girl drama continues. Chelsea and Sara are working on things in private and that has Giorgia and Amanda pissed. They think they are talking shit on them while Chelsea and Sara just keep professing they are working on their lockups and lifts. Things break down as Giorgia and Amanda go back to Chelsea being the newbie and everyone walks off upset.

-We segue to Giorgia on the phone with her dad and she breaks down in tears for some reason. That causes her father to break down as well, and he says that deep down inside he knows that she isn’t going to come back no matter what happens with the show. He does say he will lover her for who she is, and she reminds him that she is only a flight away.

-Mada talks to ZZ about making him look bad in the ring. You better watch out Mada. Call up Patrick and ask him what happens if you attack ZZ. He asks him if he honestly thinks he can win the competition and ZZ admits that he doesn’t think he can beat Mada at this particular moment.

-Back to Full Sail and Team B.A.D get introduced to the crowd. Sasha is carrying her NXT Title which is nice to see and we take a break.

-Back and Renee covers the Rules of Elimination again. Last week the men we chopped by Show, so this week the girls get to do some in ring work with Team B.A.D. They are informed they have to take a slam and a splash off the top rope. Everyone seems nervous and Paige screams out that they should be.

-Tamina grabs Sara first and she takes a rather rigid bump off the slam, and the splash follows. Sara didn’t really sell that well as she just laid there frozen, but nobody got hurt. She made the mistake of smiling all through as well. Amanda next and she makes the same mistake of smiling through the entire thing. Jericho gets Tamina to move a little faster and that leads to Chelsea taking her turn. Last is Giorgia and again too much smiling. Clearly not as much fun as last week when the men ate a stiff ass chop from Show. We take another break.

-Back at Full Sail, and Bryan puts over the women for taking the splash. He also compliments Sara and Chelsea for practicing while at the barracks. Paige calls Amanda paranoid and she says she was only trying to get them to confess that they were talking about her. They ask Tanner if he has started Jericho’s book and he says he has gotten through chapter 1 and that gives Daniel another chance to plug his book. Miz asks ZZ about his diet and training. He says he has been drinking water and eating chicken all week. Paige calls out ZZ for not training as it seems Mada put out a periscope with everyone training, but ZZ. She calls him a liar and he has no answer, so Jericho breaks the tension by having Josh do a Yeti call. He rightly points out that it sounds more like Chewbaca.

-Bottom Three time and Bryan tosses Amanda in there. Miz seems annoyed with that as he says that Amanda is hot and that last time he looked the Divas were also hot. Seriously, who the hell made this guy a judge? Miz then puts Mada in the bottom 3 as he tells him he needs to be more than a 1 dimensional 80s guy. So Hogan’s favorite and someone that reminds people of guys from the 80s gets tossed in the bottom this week by Hogan’s replacement. Yep! Paige tosses in ZZ and just tears him apart by calling him lazy, a liar, and that he admitted he doesn’t think he can win.

-Each gets their 30 seconds and Amanda plays up that the fans don’t want average. Mada says he wants to headline WrestleMania and wants to be a WWE Hall of Famer. He puts over all the qualities he has and he wants to a chance to prove himself. We get the usual for ZZ and then we take a break.

-This should be easy as I think that Amanda is in trouble. Mada did a hell of a job selling himself, and I don’t see America being quite sick of ZZ yet. So I will put my perfect record on the line by picking Amanda as the one heading home.

-The safe contestants make their choices and they all pile on ZZ. The Miz uses his save and you could see this one coming a mile away. He thinks a WWE Diva has a look and fiery side so he is saving Amanda. Paige is rather pissed and she calls Miz an idiot.

-Good thing he saved her too as she was absolutely crushed in the voting with only 13% (so I am still counting that as a win for me). Mada is sent packing with 39% as ZZ once again gets by with 48%. Paige is pissed as she screams in the background. He doesn’t think he should be going home, but he is gracious as he leaves. He promises this won’t be the last time we see him.

-Jericho informs us that Byron Saxton will be taking over for The Miz on Tough Talk.

-Well that was something I guess. Amanda should be going home right now, but gets saved because our new judge, The Miz thinks she is hot. That costs someone with potential like Mada (who Miz put in the bottom 3 because of his own insecurities about the fact he wouldn’t have been a quality job guy in the 80s), and ZZ sticks around because America loves him.

-Join me next week as thankfully Miz can’t save anyone else the rest of the show.
