MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was decent enough and a good way to start the show. I have to say after all the straight tag matches these two teams have had…the singles matches feel a bit fresher. A solid start to tonight’s Main Event.

Tyson Kidd is stretching backstage and Nattie approaches him. Nattie says that Tyson means so much to her. Nattie doesn’t want to be annoying about the shield thing and she is proud of Tyson and loves him. Tyson takes his headphones off and says thanks.

Curtis Axel vs. Justin Gabriel
Gabriel got the jobber entrance, so I have a feeling of how this one will go. Curtis Axel makes his return tonight in singles action. The two slowly circle and Gabriel wrestles Axel down until Axel reverses and they trade armlocks. The crowd chants you’re not perfect to Curtis Axel. Axel taunts Gabriel and we get another break in the feed. I return as Axel hiptosses Gabriel. Axel hits a dropkick for a 1 count. Axel gets a snapmare and chinlock. He grounds Gabriel briefly. Axel quickly backs him to a corner and hits some clobbering blows. Gabriel fights out though hitting a diving sliding clothesline for a 1 count. Gabriel takes advantage stomping Curtis down. Gabriel punches Axel and they run into each other. The double noggin knocker causes both men to collide for the count. They recover slowly and Gabriel cactus clotheslines Axel over the top. The feed freezes again and we return to Axel throwing Gabriel in the ring. The announcers try to put over Axel. Axel pushes Gabriel off the top rope to the outside. Curtis hits the running knee to the face. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Curtis Axel @ 4:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was as good as the last. It is always nice to see a Justin Gabriel sighting. I actually think the running knee to the face is a unique move and could be better than Axel using the Perfect-Plex. Nonetheless, good match for what it was.

We get a look at Sami Zayn. They show NXT highlights of Zayn and some of his most impressive moves. Sami Zayn will be going one on one with Tyson Kidd next! I do like that they told a little bit about Zayn before the match. That always helps. The feed froze again during the commercial and immediately as the next match starts.

Sami Zayn vs. Tyson Kidd with Natalya
Tyson runs around the ring before helping Natalya in. Sami comes out to a decent reception better than I expected. He is greeted by Ole chants. The two circle around the ring before locking up. Tyson throws him down on an arm drag and celebrates. Sami recovers quickly and they start wrestling over a headlock. Tyson takes him to the ground with a tight headlock. Sami and Tyson run the ropes and Sami hits an arm drag of his own. Unfortunately, the feed cuts out again. We return to Sami getting a go behind and Tyson reversing into an arm ringer. Another quick cut from the feed. Luckily, we don’t miss anything as Tyson charges Sami who leaps over backwards. He hits a few arm drags and a spinning arm drag. The crowd has been chanting Sami is better too! Sami gets another arm drag for a 1 count and puts him to the ground with a chinlock. Tyson suckers him into a corner and takes advantage with some strikes. Sami goes for a headscissors that Tyson hits out of. Sami tries to springboard to the ropes, but Tyson counters with a beautiful front dropkick. Tyson follows him outside and hits a swinging neckbreaker on the outside of the ring. Tyson throws Sami into the ring. Tyson demands a kiss from Natalya!! She complies with a frown. Tyson stomps down Sami and throws his head into the corner before pounding him into the corner. Tyson body slams Sami against the turnbuckle and he starts ramming his knee into Sami. He hits a running dropkick in the tree of woe. The crowd boos this heavily as we go to a commercial.

We return with Tyson catching Sami in a headlock. Sami fights out, but Tyson quickly sends him back down with a running forearm. Tyson whips him off the ropes and hits a back elbow. Tyson headlocks Sami and taunts him. The crowd comes alive for Sami helping him to his feet. He hits another arm drag before Tyson kicks him in the midsection. Sami hits a few flying clotheslines and a dropkick. Tyson sends a boot to his face and goes up top. Tyson hits a top rope blockbuster. 1..2..kickout. The crowd really gets into it after that and the feed has gone out again to worse quality now. Tyson chokes Sami with a knee to the face and a jumping leg drop. Tyson hits a springboard elbow. 1..2..kickout. 1..2..kickout. 1..2..kickout. Tyson smartly pins him multiple times like any true heel would. The crowd is really into Sami now who hits a back elbow and a kick to the fact. Sami hits a top rope cross body. 1..2..kickout. The crowd boos the kickout of Tyson. Sami goes for a belly-to-back that Tyson elbows out of. Sami doesn’t care hitting the Blue Thunder pin anyway. 1..2..kickout. Sami goes for a suplex as a staggered Tyson is on the apron. Tyson blocks the first attempt and nearly reverses. Sami does the same until Tyson has had enough hitting a shoulder thrust and reverse o’connor roll into a jacknife by Sami that is reversed into the tights held roll-up by Tyson. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Tyson Kidd @ 12:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This was really good as you would expect. These two have good chemistry and it made for an awesome match. I hope a few people check out Main Event at least for this match. It is always nice to see Sami Zayn and the crowd loved the match too. These two deserve a chance to let loose on Raw. Tyson Kidd celebrates like it’s the biggest victory of his career.

We go to the Raw Rebound highlighting the Seth Rollins and Randy Orton situation. Bray Wyatt is in action next.

Sin Cara vs. Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt stars Sin Cara down and powers him into a corner. Bray hits him with some throat thrusts and taunts Cara to cheers. Cara misses a senton sunset flip and Bray sends him down with another throat thrust. He powers him down on some punches and throws his head into the corner. Bray whips Cara off the ropes and flips over the ropes to the outside. Cara hits a suicide dive. He rolls Bray in and hits some kicks. Wyatt’s clothesline is ducked but he hits on the diving shoulderblock. Bray asks Cara who is in control. Bray lifts Cara to cheers. Bray hits some corner throat thrusts and a corner avalanche. Bray keeps him grounded in a chinlock. Bray lifts Cara by the throat and throws him, but Cara hits a backspring elbow and another elbow. He moonsaults over Bray who quickly catches him with a Ura-Nage. Bray spiderwalks to Cara and lifts him for Sister Abigail. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Bray Wyatt @ 4:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: I feel like it has been ages since I saw Bray Wyatt or any Wyatt for that matter, so this was nice to see. Bray got a nice dominant victory here. This amounted to an extended squash that got the job done. A good way to end tonight’s Main Event.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The Stardust and Jey Uso match was more of the same, and the following Curtis Axel and Justin Gabriel match was unspectacular and decent. The Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd match was worthwhile and a lot of fun. The recaps were less heavy than usual and we didn’t start with a promo. That’s always a plus. The show finished with Bray Wyatt in action. Bray Wyatt got a nice dominant victory to end the show. I’m always happy to see that the crowd appreciated both Zayn and Wyatt. A worthwhile edition of Main Event mostly because of Sami Zayn! Thanks to all who read the recap!
