411’s WWE Main Event Report 11.24.15

WWE Main Event 11.24.15

It would be really great if Main Event could become a show that featured some great wrestling that no one is watching, instead of mediocre wrestling on Raw that no one is watching. I must say that Survivor Series was a stinker of a show and the product needs some serious help. If not for writing this report and going to two shows next month I am not sure I would be even watching the product right now. Let’s get to the action.

Stardust vs Titus O’Neil (w/Darren Young): O’Neil continues to wrestle in singles action, though Young actually comes to the ring (with gear on) tonight. Young decides to join Rich & Byron for commentary. Stardust uses the ringtron to his advantage early and slams O’Neil’s leg against it; that may be the first time I have seen someone use this as a tool and it was refreshing. Stardust went for a crossbody but was caught and slammed by O’Neil. O’Neil did his gator anctics, but Stardust got out of the ring and headed up the ramp. At 7 Stardust feigned coming back in but threw his hands up and headed to the back. Well that was… strange.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Titus O’Neil by COUNT OUT @ 3:42 (*)

Heath Slater vs Ryback: We get a recap video of Ryback wrecking Slater (which was possibly the only thing cut from this week’s Hulu 90 minute version of Raw that I watch). It is nice to see a match on Main Event actually have a reason for happening, even if the match will mean nothing and the payoff will never be mentioned again. Slater actually gets in some offense with a knee to the face, followed by a 1 count! Slater gets in a tad more offense before Ryback hits the meat hook and the Shell Shock. It’s over! This was exactly what you would expect.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Ryback by pinfall @ 2:57 (NR)

Rusev vs Zack Ryder: From the main event of Raw and into the mid-card of Main Event the following night for Rusev. The match reached the 3 minute mark when I realized that I had not wrote an actual sentence about the match. Ryder actually started to get in about a minutes worth of offense with punches, kicks and a broski boot around this time. Rusev would eventually stop this and target Ryder’s back. Ryder was dragged to the center of the ring, Accolade applied and Ryder has no choice but to tap.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Rusev by submission @ 4:18 (*)

RECAP: The terrible finish to the Survivor Series PPV and the title situation from Monday.

Brie Bella (w/Alicia Fox) vs Charlotte: Oh good this match, we haven’t seen this since last Thursday on SmackDown! This is the fifth singles match between the two this year, and somewhat surprisingly Brie has not won one of them. This may have been a slightly better match than the two we saw Charlotte have with Paige Sunday and Monday. I know that many were a few of their Survivor Series match but it was all heatless, sloppy brawling from my eyes. This didn’t have a lot of heat behind it but I would say the crowd was more into this when Charlotte was on offense than either of the last two nights. Charlotte was in control until Paige’s music hit and she became distracted. Brie rolled Charlotte up and that was all she wrote. A perfectly acceptable match, and it was nice to see a little angle advancement on the “c show”; even if it was with one of the most tired ways of doing so.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Brie Bella by pinfall @ 9:34 (**)

Well this wasn't the good little wrestling show that I was hoping for, however it was refreshing to see two matches either play off a Raw angle or continue a feud.
