WWE MAIN EVENT 9.23.14

Slater Gator (Heath Slater & Titus O’ Neil) vs. Los Matardores(Diego and Fernando) with El Torito

Adam Rose and The Bunny join the commentary team. The Bunny just uses sign language instead of actually speaking. They waste a minute with The Exotic Express jawing with Heath Slater. Heath seems very distracted by it keeping the match from starting. Fernando dropkicks Heath into Titus. Diego is tagged in and hits a cross body. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT Los Matardores: @ 2:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: This wasn’t really a match. This was basically 2 minutes of Heath Slater looking at the Exotic Express. After that, Los Matardores hit two moves to win. Really, that match was just there and served no real purpose.

Los Matardores dance with The Exotic Express afterwards.

Michael Cole trying to get Saxton to do The Exotic Express dance is probably why it isn’t over.

Mark Henry in a suit comes out. “I’ve thought about this for a while now. This is very emotional for me. I wrote a statement down.” USA chants erupt throughout the arena. “I apologize to America once, I’ll be damned if I do it again. You all knew I was hurt, as did Rusev. You encouraged me to get in this ring with a man that decimated me the night before. Now, I’m hurt even worse. You can hang that on all of your heads. I did the best I can do. I stood up for my country at the Olympic Games and against Rusev. It seems that you all don’t appreciate me. As much as I love our country, there is one thing I don’t get. We love us some winners. What about people like me who tried our hardest? America is obsessed with winning at the expense of people who worked harder than you ever thought about working. If I don’t win, I’m no longer your boy.”

Big Show comes out to cheers. He grabs a mic. He says, oh my goodness. I know your upset and you’re my brother from another mother. Show asks if he remembers the time he ate all his chocolate chip cookies and drank all his milk. He’d kick anyone else out his door. Show says it is his fault too. Show says he is his brother and he does love him. Show says he feels his pain. Show says he’ll get booed too if it means standing beside Henry. Show says this Friday he’ll knock out Rusev. Show consoles Henry, as they walk out together.

They recap the main event from Night of Champions.

AJ Lee comes down and joins the commentary team.

We go to a commercial break.

Naomi vs. Paige

Paige and Naomi lock-up leading to an arm ringer sequence that Naomi cleverly kicks out of it, taking Paige down with a leg scissors for 1. Naomi hits a twirling headscissors and a jacknife roll for a 1 count. Naomi hits the ass shaking scissors and a falling sunset flip. 1..2..kickout. Naomi leads her to the ropes and gets arm hot shotted by Paige. She goes for the pinfall. 1..2..kickout. Paige kicks her down and stomps her into a corner. Paige taunts AJ, but Naomi rolls her up. 1..2..kickout. Paige yazkuza kicks her down. Naomi slowly recovers and hits a spinning hurricanrana along with a face-first headscissors slam. 1..2..kickout. Naomi hits a snapmare and thrust punches. Paige hits the Stun Gun into the corner and rolls up Naomi with her feet on the ropes. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Paige @ 3:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: This was a great match between two good divas. I only wish this match got more time. These two have great chemistry and it always ends up being a good match. At least, this match was a match unlike the first.

AJ Lee lays Paige out after the match.

Renee interviews The Usos. She asks how the Usos feel about their rematch on Smackdown. Jimmy says they beat The Usos fair and square. Jey says Smackdown is a new night. Jey says they’ll be getting Uso crazy on Smackdown. Bo Dallas is in action next.

We go to another commercial break.

Kofi Kingston vs. Bo Dallas

Bo says he finally understood what it feels like to be a loser on Raw. He knows what it felt like to be Kofi. It was good to see Kofi, because he didn’t realize he still worked here. Bo says instead of saying Boom, Boom, Boom. He should say Bo, Bo, Bo. Kofi attacks and is taken down, but recovers quickly. Kofi kicks him in the head and goes for the corner punches. Bo quickly counters by pushing him into the corner and kneeing him into the corner. Bo hits a short-arm clothesline for a 1 count. Bo grounds Kofi in an armlock chinlock. Kofi fights out to a vertical base and hits a clothesline along with some dropkicks. Kofi goes for a monkey flip and lands on the ropes coming down on the cross body. 1..2..kickout. Kofi misses a beautiful 180 cross body. Bo hits the la magistral. 1..2..kickout. Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Kofi @ 2:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was very fast paced for how short it was. This was a nice little match. I really don’t like the Bo Dallas losing streak because he was doing well before the losses. Nonetheless, the match was decent work.

Now, we go to our main event of the evening with MizTV. Miz brings stunt double Damien Mizdow with him. Dean Amrbose will be tonight’s guest on MizTV. Miz says an amateur tries to make the show all about them. Miz says improv class taught him to always say no. Damien Mizdow is great mirroring Miz’s actions in the background. Miz says he was caught in a trap last night on Raw. Miz loses his train of thoughts before telling us to get our strait jackets ready. He says, “Welcome Dean Ambrose.” Both men clap for Dean’s entrance to the ring.

Miz says it has been a long time since we’ve seen Dean Ambrose. They replay the footage of Rollins curbstomping Ambrose into the concrete. Dean seems irritated by this. Miz says inside sources say he suffered significant head trauma, but no one knows for sure where he went. Miz asks where he went. Ambrose asks if Miz thinks he is funny. Damien responds he is funny, very funny. Miz wonders how Ambrose just walked away from it. Ambrose says a normal person doesn’t walk away from it, but he is Dean Ambrose. Dean says the authority has picked a fight they can’t win. Miz says Ambrose is insane and everyone here thinks he is insane. Miz says nothing could stop him from getting to Seth Rollins. Ambrose is chuckling. Miz shows footage from Raw’s main event last night with Ambrose attacking Rollins. The crowd cheers this. Miz asks if they like that. Miz wants to know the breaking news. Miz asks how Ambrose got out of the room last night on Raw. Ambrose says it is simple, there was a backdoor. Miz says that is the big scoop. Ambrose says that is the truth, is that the authority put him in a room with two doors.

Ambrose asks if he feels cheated. Miz goes on a tirade against Ziggler for losing his IC Title. This is the most intensity Miz has ever shown, but Ambrose headbutts Miz and hits Dirty Deeds. He sends Mizdow to the outside of the ring. Ambrose lifts Miz and puts him back in his ring knocked out with the glasses and mic! The crowd chants Ambrose. Ambrose says, “Thank you Miz, you were a great host. We’ll see you next time on Miz TV.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The major compliant is how short all of the matches are. The first match wasn’t even really a match, but two moves. The following matches were awesome work, but really short. This would have been a great edition of Main Event if the matches got more time. Still, Dean Ambrose as usual was completely awesome. Also, Damien Mizdow was beyond awesome in the final segment as well. The main event segment was actually very entertaining despite being a promo segment unlike the ones usually on Raw. Miz and Ambrose put both Rollins and Dolph over. Awesome way to end the show, but I still wish the recaps were done less to give the matches more time. Thanks to all who read the recap.
