Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round: Sanity vs. Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger

“Glorious ten” chants all around. Roode takes credit and poses so Tye turns, points to the “10” on his ass and gets a pop. Sanity all come out in hoodies and jackets with their faces covered by bandanas. The crowd chants” holy shit.” The two fighting are Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton. The other two, a male and female, have yet to reveal themselves. Wolfe starts with Tye and is aggressive from the start. Tag to Fulton and Roode nearly comes in but puts his robe back on and decides against it, leaving Tye all alone. The fans chant “no.” Tye looks furious and defeated. The hit a suplex/slam double team move to advance.

Winners: Sanity in 1:58

Sanity certainly has a cool look. Roode and Tye could be a fun feud, especially going into a TakeOver in Toronto.

The female member lays into Tye on the ground. She reveals herself to be Nikki Cross, though obviously a much darker version than the woman we’ve seen before. The last remaining guy stops her and hits a wheelbarrow neckbreaker and removes the mask. IT’S ERIC YOUNG!

Bilile Kay and Peyton Royce get interviewed. They laugh at Liv Morgan and diss the way she talks and dresses. Kay mentions that Liv lost in a minute to Asuka and she’s gonna make their match tonight longer because she is gonna enjoy it.

Bobby Roode is interviewed in the back. He calls Tye a loser and says that Tye begged him to be his partner. He isn’t a tag wrestler and says this is all Tye’s fault.

Billie Kay w/ Peyton Royce vs. Liv Morgan

They lock up and Liv sends her into the corner. Liv catches her in a small package for one and applies a headlock. Billie gets out and goes into a fireman’s carry. Drop toe hold by Liv and a clothesline. Dropkick to teh back and Liv goes for a backslide that gets two. Knees by Billie and then a stomach breaker. Billie beats on her and hoists her up for a badass looking torture rack variation. Liv survives and nails an STO. Liv fights her off with shots and nails a clothesline and dropkick. She kicks up but her run off the ropes sees Peyton trip her up. Billie hits the big boot and wins.

Winner: Billie Kay in 3:28

Sloppy work from these women. Billie can be better, I’ve seen it. Liv still needs a lot of work. I still love the pairing of Peyton and Billie.

They recap Andrade Almas attacking Cedric Alexander after they lost to the Revival last week. They caught up with him after the match. He basically said that he’s the best and asked who is Cedric Alexander. A lot of it was in Spanish.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round: TM61 vs. Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli

You may know Sabbatelli from Breaking Ground. Moss and Tino seem very cocky. Moss starts with Miller and neither guy gives a clean break in the corner. Miller works a wristlock into a headlock. Tag to Thorne who hits a senton. Tag back to Miller. Crowd splits “We want Tino”/”No we don’t.” Thorne and Miller hit their fist drop/moonsault combo on Moss. Tino runs in but gets caught with a dropkcik. Thorne goes for a dive outside but Tino pulls the ropes down on him. After a quick break, Moss suplexes Thorne. Tag to Tino and they work some quick double teams. Corey Graves hammers home their past football success like his name is Jim Ross. Tino wrenches on Thorne’s arm while Corey talks about Tino being a millionaire after the three NFL contracts he signed. Thorne fights out of trouble in the opposite corner. He tries to slingshot in but gets caught with a powerslam for two. Hot tag to Miller who does his thing and hits a stalling suplex on Moss but Tino breaks up the pin and knocks Thorne off the apron. Moss tags him in but Miller slips free of his grasp. Tag to Thorne who hits a running kick. They nail Thunder Valley to win.

Winners: TM61 in 8:30

Fine enough but Tino and Riddick got a bit too much for my taste. They may have wanted to establish them but TM61 looked weak. *1/2

Next week, No Way Jose and Rich Swann take on Tony Nese and Drew Gulak

Blake vs. Murphy

These are the two men dating Alexa Bliss and Tough Enough winner Sara Lee. Kudos to both. Lock up and a break. They go again and give a clean break on the ropes. Murphy escapes a back suplex and goes to a headlock. Blake escapes, ends up back in one, does one of his own, Mruphy escapes. Stand off. Blake starts laying in the shots and shouts that he’s better, but Murphy wallops him with an elbow that sends Blake outside. He flies out over the top with a tope con hilo. As Murphy rolls Blake back inside, Samoa Joe runs out and attacks him.

Winner via disqualification: Murphy in 3:12

Blake tries to after Joe but also gets taken out. Joe hits a uranage on the apron on Murphy. Samoa Joe demands William Regal and says that time is up. After a break, Joe is still in the ring. He wants Nakamura or his title. Nakamura’s music plays and the NXT Champion appears on the stage in a neck brace. He simply removes it and drops the title. He runs in and the two of them brawl until security breaks it up. Even after, Nakamura gets free and runs up to kick Joe. When he can’t get his hands on Joe anymore, Nakamura beats up security, even hitting one dude with Kinshasa. Joe shows back up and they fight to the ring where Nakamura lays him out with Kinshasa.
