411’s WWE NXT Report 11.23.16

November 23, 2016 | Posted by Kevin Pantoja

The show opens with a video recap of everything that went down at TakeOver: Toronto. Tonight’s episode takes place in Toronto.

Rich Swann vs. Kona Reeves

Swann gets a big pop but Reeves gets no reaction at all. Reeves has a power advantage and uses it to back Swann into the corner and launch him across the ring. He taunts so Swann side steps him, then gets under him for a failed rollup. Swann hits a big right hand and a dropkick but runs into a popup Samoan drop for two. Reeves sends Swann sternum first into the corner. He mocks Swann’s dance and does it again. He stomps on Swann in the corner. Swann ducks a clothesline and Reeves hits the ropes. Swann delivers several clotheslines before a leaping one finally takes him down. Enziguri from Swann and then he hits the hopping 450 splash. Sanity’s theme plays to interrupt the match. Sanity beats them both up for a double DQ.

Match ends in a double DQ I guess (No timing today. My stream has been bad so my stopwatch would be inaccurate)

Eric Young directs his guys to take out Reeves. Swann files in after them but Fulton takes him down quickly and all four jump him. There are “EY” chants in his home country. Young takes out Swann with a wheelbarrow neckbreaker. Young gets on the microphone and says that the world is in complete chaos. He got nothing trying to do things “their” way. Sanity isn’t asking for permission or approval. They  are going to take.

After a break, No Way Jose is out to check on his buddy. He gets on the microphone and tells them to come back and take a whipping. Wolfe and Fulton step forward but Jose wants the puppet master.Young teases it and the crowd chants for Jose. Jose knocks the tag team off of the apron and goes at it with Young. Jose sends him off the ropes and hits a popup right hand.Young backs away and calls in Fulton and Wolfe, who gang up on Jose.

A recap is shown of the Authors of Pain winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The winners and Paul Ellering were spoken to after the win. Paul says that they’ve been a team of destiny since their debut. They proved that by winning the tournament. He called their start chapter one, the Dusty Classic chapter two and chapter three remains to be seen. Then the Authors shouted in another language.

Footage airs from earlier this week when Billie Kay and Peyton Royce asked Daria to be their partner. She was shadow boxing and got in their face but agreed because she’ll get to beat people up.

Dasha interviews Billie and Peyton. Billie says everyone knows who they are but introduce Daria. Billie says that the geeks and nerds wanted to be their partner but Peyton says that the cool kids invite you over and they invited Daria. Their goal is to make the world prettier and Daria will rearrange the face of anyone who gets in their way. Daria seems slightly annoyed by them.

They recap Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger next. After the match, they spoke to Tye about the loss. He calls it disheartening, saying that he’s worked hard and put in the years to capitalize on moments like this but he can never seem to finish the job. He mentions that family was at ringside and he needed the win. He doesn’t know what’s next for him and says that this was the moment for him but he came up short. He mentions his standing ovation and if 10,000 people believe in, then maybe he won’t come up short next time.

Time to show a video that highlights the five star match between #DIY and the Revival. After the match, an emotional #DIY called it everything they’ve ever worked for over twelve years. They were told they weren’t big, talented or good enough but the titles prove those people wrong. They love each other and say they did it.

Asuka vs. Mickie James gets a recap next. Mickie James is crying after the match when she gets interviewed and called it an incredible experience. She drops the NXT intro theme line of “the roar of the crowd.” Mickie calls Asuka incredible and believed she might have had her number but Asuka was the winner. She admits to feeling disrespected when Asuka wouldn’t accept her handshake.

The NXT Championship match from Toronto gets video recap treatment next. An upset Nakamura was shown walking to his car after the show. All he says is that he wants a rematch. Joe returns to NXT, from Ottawa, next week.

Next week ~ No Way Jose vs. Eric Young

Aliyah, Ember Moon and Liv Morgan vs. Billie Kay, Daria Berenato and Peyton Royce

Liv is sporting old school Toronto Raptors gear. Aliyah gets a nice hometown pop, though Ember still seems to be the most popular. Billie starts by attacking Morgan. Morgan fights back with right hands and then does a handspring into a back roll into a flying head scissors. She fires off dropkicks for both Peyton and Billie and then some chops and a double buldog. She kicks up and taunts before tagging Aliyah. She comes off the top with an axe handle, then does a middle rope backflip into an arm drag. Daria gets the tag and takes Aliyah to the mat. Aliyah rolls her up but Daria has a shoulder up. Aliyah charges in but Daria comes out with a double leg take down. Commercial break. Returning, the Australian ladies do a double team stalling vertical suplex on Aliyah for two. Tag to Peyton and then do a series of double kicks. Another tag and a double sweep for a near fall. Tag to Daria who fires off some kicks in the corner. Daria works a body scissors. Aliyah fights free and uses a weak enziguri to make the hot tag to Ember. Ember hits Peyton with a series of kicks an da sweet headscissors takeover. Ember does her handspring forearm and a spingboard cross body but Daria breaks up the pin. LIv hits Daria with a modified STO but gets up to a big boot from Billie. Billie drags Peyton to the corner and drags Daria to tag in instead of doing it herself. Daria isn’t happy and turns around into a horribly sold diving stunner.

Winners: Aliyah, Ember Moon and Liv Morgan in 5:39 (My stream worked for this) (**1/4)

In two weeks, Shinsuke Nakamura gets his rematch against Samoa Joe in Osaka, Japan!
