The show officially begins with Samoa Joe walking down to the ring. He claims that a loss sometimes makes you look in the mirror. He is a man who understands when he’s wrong and he can admit his mistakes. Joe says that everything you hear from the fans is true. He calls himself a disgrace as champion because in his hunt for the title, he destroyed everything, including friendships. Joe wanted to be the standard of NXT and calls the brand the best. He calls out Shinsuke Nakamura to say something to his face. Nakamura obliges and gets in the ring. Joe says that he’s direct and tells people what he thinks to their face. He meant everything he said going into TakeOver but knows they didn’t need any hype. Joe says that he meant it when he said that Nakamura was an undeserving contender, but now believes that he’s a worthy champion. He brings up his rematch clause and doesn’t want Shinsuke to hear it from William Regal. As soon as he’s cleared, he wants his rematch. Nakamura says “rematch?” and then does a lot of his trademark gyrations and movements before simply saying “you’re on.” Before Joe leaves, he shakes Nakamura’s hand. As Nakamura reaches the top of the ramp, Joe rushes back out and attacks him. He beats him up down to the ramp but Shinsuke fights back. Joe blocks a punch and throws him into steel steps. Joe finishes the beatdown with a uranage onto the steps. Joe shouts “I DID THIS TO YOU!”  Nakamura does the stretcher job as William Regal and Corey Graves show up to check on him.

William Regal looks for Samoa Joe outside but only finds a car that Joe speeds away in.

Liv Morgan vs. Rachel Fazio

Fazio is Rachel Ellering. They start and Liv gets a quick near fall. They roll around and she gets another. Liv goes to a front face lock but Fazio fights out. She Matrix avoids a shot and arm drags Fazio but takes a forearm to the back. They fight to silence in the corner and Liv hits a snapmare and dropkick. Fazio counters a whip but has a kick blocked. Liv goes to an ugly guillotine choke and wins.

Winner: Liv Morgan in 1:52

Really sloppy stuff here. Liv is really, really far from being ready to do anything of note. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are WAY more ready.

Liv gets on the mic afterwards and says “no offense RACHEL, BUT YOU JUST TAPPED THE HELL OUT!” She says that the talk is that the NXT women’s division has cleared out but she’s standing here and wants to fight. Liv doesn’t care that people think she has a death wish, she challenges Asuka for the title. The fans chant “Asuka’s gonna kill you” and Liv wants Asuka to try.

Serenity vignette airs. It is no different.

Drew Gulak vs. Hideo Itami

This could be interesting. A small “Catch Point” chant starts as they grapple to the mat. Gulak gets the first big shot with a chop, so Hideo responds with a slap and kitchen sink. He hits another knee and a kick to the back before one to the chest. Itami kicks dirt on his face but runs into a boot in the corner. He comes back with one of his before taking a dropkick. Gulak body slams him into the ropes for two. Gulak wears down Hideo’s leg. He adjusts and starts working the shoulder before getting two on a back suplex. Itami fires up despite Gulak laying in the slaps. Itami clotheslines him and hits a big kick. Corner hesitation dropkick connects the crowd wants the GTS. Hideo gives them what they want and wins it.

Winner: Hideo Itami in 4:53

Good work from both guys. They hit each other hard, Gulak got to look good and Itami came out looking strong. Accomplished all that it had to. **1/2

The Authors of Pain w/ Paul Ellering vs. Doug Sesa? and Other Jobber

Rezar shows off the speed and quickly takes down Doug. Akam gets the tag adn they continue the assault. The other jobber tries to give up and leave, but Akam pulls him in and clubs him in the neck. They pretty much murder him with an assisted powerbomb. Tag to Rezar and they nail the clothesline/Russian leg sweep combo that ends it.

Winners: The Authors of Pain in 1:50

Typical squash for the duo. Fine enough.

Tye Dillinger gets interviewed in the back. he says that his summer has been more downs than ups and it started with his loss to Oney Lorcan. He reminds them that he won two straight matches. “There’s no more, is Dillinger a 9.5 or, oh god…is he a 9?” He will always be a perfect 10.

Bobby Roode vs. No Way Jose

GLORIOUS! The Full Sail crowd sings along. They lock up and Roode snapmares him and taunts. Bobby puts on a headlock, Jose gets free and Roode shoulder blocks him. Jose blocks a hip toss and clotheslines Roode before following up with body slams. Jose hits a back body drop and clotheslines him outside. He comes off the apron with offense as it goes to break. Jose is in control after the break but runs into a big spinebuster. Roode starts laying in the shots and stands on Jose on the second rope. Stalling suplex by Booby. Roode makes sure to stop and shout GLORIOUS. Some fans try to sing it but it doesn’t catch on. Jose with a cross body for two. Back suplex by Roode gets two. Roode has a suplex blocked and Jose gets in lefts and rights. He nails some chops and then an airplane spin into a TKO for a near fall. Booby counters the fastball right hand into a neckbreaker. Bobby says “NOW…GLORIOUS” and hits an implant DDT to win.

Winner: Bobby Roode in 7:45

Decent match. Jose got in a fair amount of offense and looked good, but the outcome was never in doubt. At least Bobby changed his finisher. **1/4
