411’s WWE Monday Night Raw Report 10.20.14

RAW!!!!

Tony’s podcast partner in crime here, as I fill in for a few. He’ll be back shortly.

Open with a recap of what went down last week on Raw. They show the end and then show Cena and Ambrose shaking hands. If you want to know more, check out the Report from last week.

Open by focusing on the Hell in a Cell. “Bow Down to the King” hits and the Authority (minus Steph) makes their way down to ringside. Trips welcome everyone to Raw and is sure it’ll be an epic night on Raw. One the Authority can be proud of. Triple H makes the main event for the evening: Kane, Rollins and Orton vs. Ambrose and Cena in a street fight. If they make it through the match, then quite literally, hell is hanging over their heads. Trips talks about the Cell’s history and tells us we can see it all on the WWE Network for…Trips then says to take it from the man who’s been in the most. It’s not the kind of match you win (though he has won the most), it’s the kind you survive. Sunday, they put to bed the two biggest rivalries in the WWE. As the face of the WWE, Randy Orton goes one on one with the 15 time Heavyweight champion, John Cena. And in the other, it’ll be the Unstable Dean Ambrose taking on Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins.

Rollins says he likes the Mr. Money in the Bank nickname, but has an idea for another one. “The Undisputed Future of WWE”. Orton shoots Rollins a look. Rollins brags about the nickname and the fact that he and Cena are the main event. Orton’s says actually the main event is going to feature two superstars that how been around for “more then a hot cup of coffee”. Orton and Rollins starts to bicker, but Trips stop it, saying that the Orton-Cena match will be all about opportunity, as the winner gets a future shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar (who exists this week) Trips closes out by saying no matter what happens, the Authority always wins. Because that’s what best for business. We then recap what happened on Main Event, as Mizdow impersonated Sheamus (and did so quite hysterically). Sheamus decides to be a fuddy-duddy and attacks Sheamusdow.

Tony’s back! Because of Henry, I was able to run and get Taco Bell and a Dew. Be jealous!

Match 1: Sheamus and The Usos vs The Miz, Goldust, and Stardust
The Miz opts out of the match and sends Sandow in, calling it an opportunity. Looks like the match has changed. Cody and one of the usos to start. Good for Sandow. Loved Miz’s reaction.

Orton in the back, telling Trips he is going to make him proud. He will go to Mania with the title. Trips doesn’t doubt it, and it’s a long time comin for Orton. Trips will be honest, though – this whole thing was Seth Rollin’s idea. Orton feels awkward about that, says he is going to find Seth and thank him…personally. Triple H thinks it’s a good idea.

Video package for Harper and Rowan. It’s a mash up of the previous videos. Both are set free.

We get a third act in the video package where Wyatt is dressed a bit differently, all this focusing on Sister Abigail, I presume. All he will leave behind is smoke, desolation, and damnation. It’s coming. Fog creeps under and surrounds Wyatt. Some tongues are spoken, then Wyatt disappears.

AJ!!!!!

Match 2: AJ Lee vs
Lockup into a sideheadlock by Alicia. Alicia hits the ropes and shoulder blocks AJ down to the mat. Alicia hits the ropes, hops over AJ, then eats an elbow from AJ. AJ locks the arms for a crucifix and turns it into a rollup. Alicia kicks out at 1. AJ with another rollup and gets a 1. She skips a bit then tosses Alicia to the ropes and hits a roundhouse. Pin for 1…2..NO! AJ with a kick to the gut, only to run into a weak kick from Alicia. Alicia with the cover for 1…2..NO! Alicia lifts AJ and tosses her in the corner face first. She goes for another one. Alicia with a nice Northern Lights pin for 1..2..NO! ALicia screams cuz…you know…she’s crazy. Cravat from behind. She tosses AJ down to the mat with the hair then skips around a bit. Alicia with a kick to the back then sends AJ face first into the mat. Alicia grabs AJ by her lucious locks and hits a right hand. Alicia with a kick to the face. She grabs AJ then hits a backbreaker. Pin for 1…2..NO! Alicia pulls back on the chin of AJ with a chinlock from behind. Alicia lifts AJ like nothing and tosses her into the corner. Alicia with the boot to the face. The ref stops a bit to gloat, so AJ kicks her in the back. AJ with a Lou Thesz! AJ runs and hits a clothesline in the corner then hits a hard neckbreaker to Alicia! AJ ducks a clothesline, hits the ropes! Hurricanrana! Alicia heads to the outside.

Paige is there to push Alicia, so Alicia pushes her back then sends her back in the ring. Paige distracts as AJ screams at her. Alicia with a rollup! Pin for 1…2….3!!

Official Result: Alicia Fox
Nicely done, ladies….nicely done.
RATING: ****1/2

Apparently that ending was a trick! How dare they!!

Backstage, Orton is trying to thank Rollins. Rollins says he was just looking out for Orton. Orton wants to know why. Rollins says he is a team player. Orton asks him to stay out of his business. Rollins says that this Sunday, Orton has a golden opportunity, and if by some miracle, Orton would beat Brock, then the future kind of takes care of itself.

-Commercial Break-

Because there wasn’t enough talking at the beginning of the show, Orton is here to drop some verbiage on us. He says time flies. Just yesterday, it was 2002, where John and he were both making their WWE debuts. He was 3rd Generation Royalty, and John Cena was just a punk kid who thought he could rap. He said it earlier, that Kansas City Royals will not win – which is a response to a cheer for them. Cena and became the Hogan/Piper of their generation. He respects Cena, but he’s still that jacked up punk kid from Boston who has no business being in the same ring as Orton. Cena can take his Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect and shove it up his ass. He doesn’t care about fighting for what is right, and never will. The last time they faced each other was at the Rumble, and he beat Cena. He’s going to do it again. He will beat Cena at Hell in a Cell, and he will savor every second of it.

John Cena finally interrupts before Orton could go into Curtis Axel “This Moment” territory. Cena heads down the ramp, grabs a mic. Orton removes his jacket. He tells Orton to shut his mouth. Everyone here knows Orton is gifted, but every time Orton opens his mouth, all he does is prove that he is the biggest dumb ass alive. Cena doesn’t match….like, at all. Cena calls Orton a grandpa who peed his pants. He begins to joke, and it’s as bad as one would assume. He calls Orton stupid, when he just said they were going to “ride” a nickelodeon…

2002 was the last time Orton was relevant. 2002 was when KC wasn’t winning any games but now that it’s 2014, he wants to point out that the Royals are in the World Series, and they have their eyes on the prize. Orton says being in it and winning it is two different things. Cena says Orton is a dumbass, but he’s right. Just like Sunday, Orton will be in the match, but he will not win it. Cena says now he has his eyes on Orton. He switches so quickly…Brock, Rollins, Orton, Brock…Anyway, Cena says this Sunday Orton will be locked in the cell who is on a mission because when he sees Orton, all he sees is Brock Lesnar. This Sunday, Orton will go face to face with the man that runs the place, and hell is coming with…

Ladies and gentlemen!!!

It’s Paul E!!! He says that this revisionist history is nothing short of laughable. The class of 2002 featured Randy Orton, John Cena, and The Next Big Thing…Brock Lesnar. So if you think about it – and Heyman does – the Reigning, Defending, Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World in 2002 is the Reigning, Defending, Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World in 2014. This Sunday, the two of them are going to enter – Heyman looks up at the surrounding cage. He says that hopefully to win and define their legacies – especially against each other, because the two of them are stepping in as equals. Brock has no equal. Heyman has always respected Orton, and knows how much he wants the title but he assures Orton that he wants no part of Heyman’s beast. Heyman isn’t done. Cena wants both the title and the beast. Heyman doesn’t know what Cena has on the brain, but it sure isn’t sound thinking. If Cena can get by Randy Orton, then he will have to step into the ring with his challenger-eating carnivore, Brock Lesnar. Cena gets all Popeye-faced and looks to AA Heyman. Cena kids, Cena kids. He puts Heyman down softly then turns into…an RKO. Orton wants to know who is stupid now. Heyman laughs off the attack as Cena lays all dead-like. Orton motions for Heyman to walk out of the ring. Heyman looks to oblige, but is RKOd instead! haha. Nice.

Rusev and Lana are next!

-Commercial Break-

We are back, and there’s a Big E sighting. It looks like they’ll be locking up.

Match 3: Rusev vs Big E Langston
Lockup. And it’s a stalemate. Another lockup sends Big E into the corner but Big E does the same. Rusev turns around and kicks Big E in the corner. Rusev with kicks to the thighs. Big E fights out with uppercuts. Big E is able to send Rusev to the outside. Big E with an uppercut on the outside. Rusev tries to send Big E into the apron then into the barricade. Big E sends Rusev back in the ring. Big E with an uppercut then a knee, sending Rusev into the corner. Shoulder blocks into Rusev. Rusev with a few kicks then an axe handle. Rusev with a front face headlock. Rusev turns that into a cravat but it’s short lived and Rusev hits a shoulder. Boot to the chest. Another. Another. Rusev with a right. Big E hits the ropes, hops over, hits a kick then is met with a sweet ass spinning kick.

We are back and Big E hits a nice belly to belly….then runs into a Superkick. Ouch. Rusev pulls BigE into the center of the ring and stomps the back then locks in The Accolade. Weird to see this right after the break. Big E eventually taps.
Official Result: RusevRusev
Good big man match
RATING: **

Lana on the mic. She says Big Show will fail. He is not our American hero. He is going to wallow in his own poo, y’all. Rusev tells Show he is going to rip his head off. Lana asks to drop the flag, but it doesn’t fall. Show is on the screen. He pulls his own trigger, and down falls Old Glory.

A random dude in uniform runs into the ring and security tries to stop him…Rusev gives him a Superkick! hahaha. Security checks on the soldier.

-Commercial Break-

After the break, Show comes down to help the soldier out of the ring. Show is in the middle of the ring now, looking distraught. The flag hangs behind him. Show is very upset. There are certain lines you don’t cross, says Show. You do not disrespect an American soldier. Ever. Rusev wanted Show’s attention? He’s got it. Right now, what he just did, is going to make Show unleash some wrath all over Rusev’s ass. He is an American, he is a giant. Basically, he’s gonna beat dat azz. He calls Rusev out, but Rusev doesn’t show, so Show heads to the back to get him some.

Show sees Rusev’s door. He kicks it open and walks into…an empty room.

In another, nicer area of the arena, Ambrose is watching a movie. Cena walks in on him. It’s See No Evil 2. He calls it sick. Ambrose calls them Superman and Batman. He says he’s been known to wear a cape. haha. Cena brings up the match. He wants to know how they’re going to handle it. Ambrose says that even though he’s undefeated in Contract on a Pole matches, his specialty is Street Fight Handicap matches. haha.

Ambrose says WHY SO SERIOUS?!?!?! GAHHHH!!! hahaha

Match 4: Brie Bella vs Summer Rae
Lokcup to start. Summer hits a knee then sends Brie into the corner face first. Summer pulls the hair and smashes Brie’s face into the corner again then tosses her down for a pin. It gets 1. Whip. Brie with a crucifix pin for 1…2.>NO! Brie kicks the leg of Summer then tosses her into the corner. She kicks the abs with some Yes chants. Whip is short lived so Summer hits a kick to the face and a pin fo 1…2..NO! Summer with a cobra clutch like hold onto Brie. Brie with a right elbow and another into the gut, but Sumer drops Brie. Cover for 1. Summer locks the hold in again. Brie with an arm drag. They run at each other, and we get a double hair toss. Both girls down.

Brie is up. She wants Brie Mode. She hits a hard one, knocks Summer down. Drops to her knees. She hit—nope, Summer reverses and gets a pin for 1…2..NO! Summer is pissed. She kicks Brie in the back then stomps the abs. Summer lifts Brie then whips her into the ropes, but it’s reversed. Brie sends her in the corner. She hops up to the 2nd rope, sells the abs, hits a dropkick then hits her finisher, the X-Factor. Pin for 1…2..3!!!
Official Result: Brie Bella
Brie didn’t do too badly there.
RATING: *1/2

-Commercial Break-

Ambrose is here with a couple of duffle bags. He drags them down the ramp and into the ring. Ambrose sets up a chair in the middle of the ring then grabs a mic. The last four months he’s been having dreams and visions about what he would do to Rollins and his Sunday he gets him. Ambrose takes a dummy version of Seth Rollins out of the duffle bag. Oh dear…

Ambrose: “Look at ya, Seth. Look at what you’ve become. You’re nothing but a puppet for The Authority – doin their dirty work.” haha. Ambrose doesn’t want Seth to think that he doesn’t care about him anymore, so the first body part he is going to rip off in the Cell will be his hands. Ambrose removes the forearm of Seth then slaps the dummy with his own hand. Ambrose calls him a smart guy – no dummy. He should know what Ambrose does to people who screw him over. Ambrose grabs a screwdriver and drives it into the face of the dummy. Just to hammer the point home…Ambrose grabs a hammer and smashes the face a bit. He’s going to talk about what he saw in his dream…Ambrose then takes a Saw out and considers sawing some testicles. He then grabs some tongs out to see how much testicular fortitude Seth has. Ambrose then Piledrivers the dummy.

I love Ambrose, guys…but that fell flat.

Anyway, the music of Rollins hits. Here he is, complete with Mercury and Noble. He congrats Ambrose for finding an opponent he could relate to on an intellectual level. WE all know Ambrose is never going to be able to beat him, but at least this can be parlayed into a comedy career. Ambrose wants to give a big hand to the World’s Biggest Sellout. He uses the dummy hand, then sends it flying towards Seth. Rollins says it stings a little bit being called a sellout. You see, he grew up in the midwest, but that’s where the similarities end. He knew at a young age that he was destined for more than a trailer park. None of them will understand what it’s like to be him; he is famous, rich, he is somebody. Ambrose says he has no issue giving an early preview of what he’ll do if Seth doesn’t shut his mouth. Seth is on the steps. He doesn’t sweat Ambrose. He doesn’t sweat the drill in Ambrose’s hand or the Cell that will surround them. Ya see…

SQQQQQQRRRRR!!!! CRASH!!

It’s Mick Foley!!!!

oh shit….

He just came by to visit an old friend. He points up at the cell. He wants to congratulate both of them for fulfilling their destinies. He remembers in December when The Shield was in action for the first time and his kids said they were amazing. He set the bar high for them, and lets us know that he watches RAW every Monday, Smackdown on Friday, and even subscribes to the Network for an undisclosed monthly sum. Foley visualized the day that they went face to face. He says that as disturbingly poetic he finds Ambrose to be, he envisions Seth Rollins coming out victorious. Seth says yes, that’s what he likes to hear. Just when he thought Foley had nothing redeeming left in his body, he realize that Foley still has some good thoughts.

Foley says the cell is no ordinary scenario though…Ambrose has made this very clear; he wants to rip a face off of Seth, and this is the structure in which he can do it. This is the 300th day in a row that he has worn Christmas attire because he lost a lot of innocence 18 years ago. He’s proud of his lost tooth. From the man who has been there and done that, the scars, he will heal from, it’s the emotional wounds that will not heal. Ambrose says that he lost his innocence a long time ago, and isn’t worried about adding psychological scars on top of others. He isn’t worried about teeth. No one understands him back there, but Foley might get him just a little bit…the look in his eyes right now shows that he is ready for Hell in a Cell, and that’s a question Rollins is going to have to ask himself. Ambrose gets all nutso with it.

Rollins says they are both crazy, both out of their minds, but that’s not what it’s going to take on Sunday. It has nothing to do with how crazy you think you are, and Ambrose is nuts…no, Rollins is going to beat him the same way he’s been beating everyone along the way. Ambrose is down here, and Rollins and his brain are way, way above Ambrose. Foley quotes someone important and says that person was never thrown off a cell. Foley has two distinct phases of life, Pre-Cell and Post-Cell and he’s not sure they are ready for that second half. On Sunday, the two of them get the match they’ve been waitin for their entire lives. Have a Nice Day.

Ambrose tries to attack with a chair. Rollins rolls out. Ambrose hits him with the dummy then tosses the dummy over the ropes to the stooges and Rollins.

Match 5: Dolph Ziggler vs Cesaro
Lockup into some tangoing that results in Cesaro and Ziggler pushing each other. Ziggler is locked into a side headlock by Cesaro. Cesaro hits the ropes. Shoulderblock. Cravat from the side by Cesaro. Dolph hits the ropes, stops mid-ring, and Cesaro just hits him dead in the face with a right hand. Dolph is up. Cesaro heads to the apron.
