411’s LIVE WWE Raw Report 6.1.15
* Welcome.

Hello all! For those of you that watched Elimination Chamber, you saw one of the worst and one of the most average Chamber matches, but that’s not what everyone will be talking about tonight…oh no, oh no, oh no! Everyone will be talking about….

Wait…that’s not right….

There it is!!!

The execution was great, let’s see the follow up!

RAW!
IS!
OWENSSSS!!!!

The Authority is here…and he is NOT happy. Stephanie McMahon is wearing a dress that looks like my front lawn…because California is going through a drought….it’s brown…cuz my grass is dead…get it?

Steph introduces Seth as champion, and says that just because Dean stole the title doen’t make him a champion. Ambrose is more like a klepto. He stole the Heavyweight Title, the MITB contract, the IC Title at one point, and last week he was arrested for assault. He’s hardly WWE Superstar material let alone championship material. So what are we gonna do? Fine him? Suspend him? Fire him?

Trips says they won’t have to do that, because while Ambrose might be crazy, he is not stupid. He tells Ambrose to come out with the title and return it, so that they can discuss what happens after.

H tells the crowd to shut up after some Beiber chants, then yells for Ambrose to come out, NAOW. Instead of Ambrose, we get the sultry sounds of Reigns and his music.

Reigns is smiling. The Authority is not. Reigns says San Antonio is happy to see him, though. He says that H is right; Dean is not stupid – but he’s not here, and may never come back…unless! He gets a rematch at Money in the Bank. Not just any rematch, though. He wants a ladder match. That way there is no confusion – whoever has the title will be the champion. Steph says she won’t negotiate with a low-life like Ambrose or him. Reigns says that said low-life beat Seth last night. Seth says he DID NOT BEAT ME! He is still champ! Reigns says that Seth doesn’t think he’s as good as he thinks he is. Ambrose beat him, Reigns beat him. He was kinda cool with The Shield, but now…he may be the worst WWE World Heavyweight Champion ever. Seth is so upset he gives Ambrose his rematch. Steph tries to stop him. Seth says he knows what he’s doing, and Ambrose has his rematch.

At Money in the Bank, he’s going to prove to everyone that he doesn’t need anyone’s help. He doesn’t need J&J or Kane or The Authority. Triple H keeps trying to stop him, but Seth says no, he’s going to prove it. He then walks out on his own accord.

Steph tells Reigns to wipe that face off now. Wants to know who the hell he thinks he is. H interrupts and asks the same question…haha. He then says he is Roman Reigns. He’s one of the participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Remember that contract? When Seth destroyed Reigns’ hopes and dreams with it? Don’t ya, big boy? H remembers too. Here’s the thing, Reigns is in the Money in the Bank ladder match….maybe. He doesn’thave to be. Maybe he won’t be after tonight. If Reigns loses tonight, he’s out of the Money in the Bank, and just so there’s no long drawn out anticipation, H is gonna get him an opponent right now…

Match 1: Roman Reigns vs Wade Barrett
The Money in the Bank spot is on the line here, so if Barrett wins, he’s in the ladder match come MITB. Wade with a rollup for 1. Lockup and a go behind from Reigns. Wade grabs the arm, but Reigns gets out of the hold. Both men up. Wade with a side headlock. Reigns breaks the hold and locks a side headlock of his own. Takedown, but Wade rolls it into a pin for 1. Reigns stands. Wade pulls the hair, and pressures Reigns into the corner. Right hand and some stomps. Ref stops it, allowing Reigns to walk out of the corner. Wade attacks again, sends Reigns into the corner head first then hits a suplex out of the corner. Pin for 1…NO! Side headlock from Wade. Whip to Wade, Samoan Drop attempt, but Wade drops back and holds the waist. Reigns breaks the hold and kicks Wade right in the face. Splash in the corner to Wade. Another is thwarted as Wade tosses Reigns over the top rope. Reigns lands on his feet though and stops the running Wade with a kick. He hits another. One more. Wade is set up for the flying dropkick on the apron, but Barrett heads to theoutside quickly. Reigns stops the kick and heads around to Wade, sending him into the mat then back in the ring. Reigns with a clothesline to Wade, sending him to the outside! Reigns heads to the outside, but Wade headbutts him and whips him into the steps, driving them into the knees of Reigns. Reigns gets whipped into the steps once more as we go to our first break.

Back, live, and Wade has Barrett in another side headlock, down on the mat. Reigns turns into the hold and hits the midsection. Whip to Wade into the corner, and Reigns runs, only to fall across the ropes like a dummy. Ya dummy! Wade attacks the back, then hits a hard knee to the gut of Reigns. Cover for 1..2…NO! Wade from behind, pulls back the arms of Reigns. Reigns uses his superpowers to try and break the hold, but Wade lets go and locks in a cravat. Reigns turns into the hold once again. Whip to Wade, who comes back with a hard kick. Doesn’t phase Reigns, as he hits a Samoan Drop to Wade. Both men down. Reigns uses the power of The Rock to stand, but Wade is there to hit a right. They trade hard hards, with Reigns remembering that one time in Smackdown Hotel. He hits the ropes. Clothesline to Wade! Wade runs into an elbow, then another clothesline. Reigns lifts Wade and sends him into the corner. He hits hard back elbows and clotheslines, then the ref stops him, and Wade hits a boot. Reigns still is able to hit a hard right. Rope work and Reigns hits a flying clothesline then a pin for 1…2..NO!! Wade looks to set up for something, but Reigns hits the ropes and flies back…into the Winds of Change! Wade gets ready for the Bull Hammer, and makes sure to look at the briefcase beforehand. Reigns is slow to stand. BullHammer attempt! Reigns rolls under! Grabs Wade, pulls him up from a submission attempt. Powerbomb to Barrett!! Pin for 1…2…NO!! Reigns is up! He cocks it. -giggity- Barrett rolls to the apron though. Reigns walks over, and Wade rakes the eyes then hits a guillotine.

Wade in the ring. He wants the Bullhammer! He goes for it! Roman ducks! SPEAR!!! Pin for 1…2…3!!!
Official Result: Roman Reigns
May have been more impactful if Wade didn’t lose to R-Truth less than a week ago under three minutes.
Rating: **1/2

Cole has now said the word “absconded” roughly fifty-three times.

-Commercial Break-

I come back after taking a Nikki Bella and see that she and Paige are having a conversation regarding the title. Essentially, Paige challenges Nikki to a title match. Nikki accepts Paige’s challenge, forgets her line, then remembers and says they should have this match tonight. Nikki works around the mic like she’s dodging a….well. You know.

….

Lillian Garcia is in the middle of the ring to welcome the new IC Champ, Ryback.

He’s wearing the strap, and looks proud to be doing so. Apparently, he will be facing The Miz in a Title Match as per The Authority. Ryback wants some mic time. He says no one likes an overly emotional big guy, but he’s proud to be the IC Champ. It’s because of those in the arena, last year in October, when they gave him the standing O. He thanks San Antonio specifically, so anyone not from there, fuck you.

Miz is here, lookin like an uncircumsized penis in latex and BDSM porn. Then there’s Ryback…

Just as the match of Miz and Ryback is about to start, another dick head comes out. The Big Show heads straight to the ring, enters, and stares down Ryback. Miz is an afterthought. Show sizes Ryback up for a right hand, then turns to Miz and gives him a KO Punch that is so hard, the sheer IDEA of it knocks Miz out!!

Big Show asks for the mic.

If anyone is going to beat Ryback for that championship, it’s going to be him. Big Show questions Ryback’s title of “The Big Guy,” and says he’s got nothin on The Big Show.

So, an Authority sanctioned match is made, then Authority ally Big Show interrupts this particular match to declare himself a contender.

Booker T says this was a message. Thank you Booker, I was really struggling with what just happened…

Last night…

By the way, be sure to visit Wrestling With Text where I get all of these GIFs. He’s awesome, and sponsored by Tony Acero. I haven’t given him any money or anything….but I do write love letters that never get returned.

Owens stands tall in the ring. He says when he claims he will do somehing, he delivers. When he got to NXT, he said he was going to win the title – he delivered. When he said he was going to take out Sami Zayn, he delivered. When he said he was going to leave John Cena laying in the middle of the ring at Elimination Chamber, he delivered. FIGHT OWENS FIGHT scattered about. He calls last night’s win the biggest win of his career, so he should be happy….but he’s not. The first thing he did after the match was call home. He spoke to his wife, and she was very happy and proud. Then he spoke to his son…who is a huge John Cena fan.

“He’s a kid.”

All his son could say was “how’s John, is he ok? Is John Cena alright?” He gets it, because he’s been watching Cena for years, but just because he understands doesn’t mean he thinks it’s ok. It’s not his boy’s fault. What it is..it’s blind worship. For the last decade, Cena has been portrayed as a living, breathing, real-life superhero. Think about it! The bright colors, the powerful catchphrases. HLR, Never Give Up. While Owen traveled the world for over 10 years, his son was being influenced by John Cena. That’s when John Cena became the hero that he never got the chance to be, because Owen wasn’t featured on WWE Television every week. That’s when John Cena became…SUPER CENA.

“Last night, I BEAT SUPER CENA!”

So tonight, as he stands before us, those ridiculous words over Hustle, Loyalty, Respect, and Never give up, are being uttered by a broken and empty shell of a man, and in two weeks when he beats John Cena again, he is going to expose the lie that is John Cena. He’s going to make sure his son watches every single second and if you’re a parent with a kid begging for a shirt or birthday party, have them sit down and watch it, too. He’s going to show that a real role model doesn’t rely on marketing, catch phrases, and bright colors. A real role model says they are going to do something, then they deliver…just like he does.

APPPPPLEEEE PIEEEE!!!!

Cena has this face like he blew on his Cream of Wheat, and it was still hot after the first bite. He says Never Give Up is no catchphrase to the cam, then heads to the ring.

Cena calls Owens a jackass, then tells him to shut his mouth (while Owens stands, not intending to say anything). He tells Owens to shut his mouth, and that the world is talking about Owens. For those at home, the crowd is speaking the truth (They’re chanting YOU GOT BEAT). Cena says he got beat. Owens won. Ever since he’s had that US Title, he has said there will be someone to come down, beat him, and be the better man. Until Owens opened his trap, he was going to come down and hand the US Title to Owens because he deserved it, but after all his spiel, Owens doesn’t deserve the title. Cena says Owens is a great wrestler, but he’s so concerned with being a real role model when he is not yet even a real man.

Cena goes FULL DENZEL!!!

He asks Owens if he wants to know why his son feels the way he feels. According to Owens, it’s the WWE Marketing Machine. If that were the case, he would have an Adam Rose shirt, still love the Funkasaurus, and want to be in the XFL. He feels the way he feels – just like some kids in the crowd –

Cena pulls the Cancer Card, and points out a kid who is beating it.

These kids feel the way they feel because they believe, and they believe because they see Cena deliver. Those catchphrases that Owens talks about, they weren’t created at a table of suits, they define John Cena both in the ring and outside of it. Cena takes nothing away from what Owens has done, but it’s obvious that for the past 10 years, whether Cena wins or loses, regardless of the chants, it’s painfully obvious that….if he says or wears the words Never Give Up, not only is he telling the truth, but he is encouraging everyone young and old to do the exact same thing.

“By the way, you keep fighting and you never give up.” Cena says to the kid in the crowd.

Three words, says Cena, three words – you would be amazed – on how those words affect peoples’ lives. It’s kind of like working and scratching and clawing for 10 years to finally getting a chance and knocking that door down, and saying THE CHAMP IS HERE!!! Isn’t that exactly what happened to Owens last night? The three words that define the life journey of Kevin Owens are not FIGHT OWENS FIGHT…the three words that define Kevin Owens are NEVER GIVE UP.

A bit of advice – man to almost man – THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK, because you just said you deliver on every promise, but in two weeks, Owens is going to have to explain how a really good wrestler got his ass kicked by a REAL MAN.

Cena then removes his shirt and looks to fight. Owens is like “nah, brah. I’m straight” and leaves Cena alone in th ring.

Cena is like a hot, dumb girl reading War and Peace, it looks good, maybe even sounds good, but man it just makes no sense…

What I’m getting from this is that Cena is calling Owens a better wrestler, but not a better man, thereby making him a better…wrestler? than Cena?

Reigns and Ambrose make short work of them. Seth enters the ring! Ambrose tosses the title to Seth. Seth catches. DIRTY DEEDS to Rollins! Ambrose grabs the title once again, and he and Reigns laugh it off.

The Authority comes out to stand at the top of the ramp and point with such anger.
