Welcome to 411’s WWE Smackdown Report 2.11.16

– Chris Jericho is out to kick off the show, and judging by the commentary we’re starting with Jericho vs. Styles. Jericho cuts a promo first, and says he is pumped to get his rematch with AJ Styles. He’s ready for the match, he may respect AJ Styles but he doesn’t like him. He says Styles is not as phenomenal as he is, because he hasn’t proven himself yet. Jericho proved himself in this very building in a ladder match with HBK. He is good; he is great and is the best in the world as what he does. He wants Styles to come to the ring so he can show him that being phenomenal is not enough.

– AJ Styles makes his way to the ring, but before the match can start the Social Outcasts arrive. Seriously, this is not a joke. They plan to make Smackdown viral, and they are here (minus Bo, who is in the studio) to send a message. They cut a wacky promo, Rose makes cat noises and motions, and Jericho tells them to shut up. Slater gets mad at Jericho for calling them idiots and then they attack Jericho, but Styles makes the save. Styles and Jericho clear the ring, and Jericho says that they will fight later, but right now they will fight the Outcasts.

AJ Styles and Chris Jericho vs. The Social Outcasts (Axel and Rose) w/Slater: JIP s Axel and Jericho are in. Jericho controls and hits a dropkick and tags in Styles. Styles then hits a dropkick as they look to one up one another. They take turns punishing Axel, tagging in and out and trying to prove that they are better than the other man. They argue a bit, Rose finally tags in and he attacks Styles from behind. Slater also gets involved as the Outcasts get the heat on Styles. Styles eventually hits the PELE, works over Rose and Jericho tags himself in. Jericho up top and connects with the double axe handle. He takes Axel out and then hits the springboard dropkick on Slater. Lionsault on Rose follows and Styles tags himself back in. he hits the springboard forearm and that is all for Mr. Rose.

– Jericho isn’t that impressed, and he and Styles have some words as the ref raises their hands. Jericho then hits the codebreaker on Styles to stand tall.

– Commentary talks about Daniel Bryan’s retirement. Make sure to check out my Daniel Bryan column I wrote on Monday.

– We get highlights from Monday’s Raw, focusing on Ambrose, Reigns and Lesnar.

– Brock Lesnar will be on Smackdown next week.

– Tables are set up around the ring.

The Dudleyz Talk: Bubba Ray and Devon head to the ring in street clothes. Bubba says on Raw, they made a statement, but the fans only want to talk about Daniel Bryan. They are sick of hearing about Bryan; they are sick and tired about a lot round here. Devon says ever since they came back, the people have looked at them as a nostalgia act, but they are the baddest tag team on the planet. The Usos forgot, and paid the price. They are legends that returned to add to their legacy. Bubba points out all of these tables, the tables the fans love and chant for. Take a good look at the tables, a good hard look, because it is the last time you will ever see them again. He then demands that the stagehands take the tables away. Those tables did not win 9 WE tag team titles, they did. The fans just want to chant for the tables, but they should be chanting for Devon and Bubba. What about us, what about the Dudley Boys? Bubba then says this is the last table in the ring, and they do not get another after this. This is the last time they will hear it. “Devon, get the…” and they stop and take the table down and leave with it. Suck it Dudleyz, the New Day won in the end! #savethetables

– Becky Lynch is out to do commentary.

Sasha Banks vs. Naomi w/Tamina: Naomi attacks at the bell, off the ropes and Banks with the Thesz press and after some rights, she slams Naomi to the buckles. Kicks by Banks in the corner, and after shooting Naomi to the mat slaps the shit out of her and covers for 2. Banks talks some trash, to the corner and Naomi fights back and then lands forearm strikes. To the corner, back elbow by Naomi. Banks fights back and gets the double knees in the corner and covers for 2 as Tamina pulls Naomi to the floor. We head to a commercial…

Back from the break as they work several pinning combos, with both ladies getting near falls. They had some miscommunication by the ropes, Naomi didn’t go over when she needed to, and Banks finally tosses Naomi to the floor. Banks looked to go to the floor, but Naomi pulls her down and she hits back first on the apron. That was a nasty bump, which allowed Naomi to take control. Back in Naomi got a cover for 2. Naomi hits a belly to back suplex, following on up the back bump and maintains control. Sliding clothesline by Naomi follows, she then works a series of kicks and then drops Banks with an enziguri. Knees by Naomi, off the ropes and Banks gets a head scissors to counter and both ladies are down. They work to their feet, they trade forearm strikes and then Banks with clotheslines to start to get control back. Another head scissors by Banks, charging knees in the corner and then Banks covers for 2. Boot by Banks, but then Tamina pulls her to the mat and Naomi hits a head scissors driver for 2. Lynch and Tamina brawl at ringside now, Naomi misses the split legged moonsault in the ring as Tamina slams Lynch to the barricade. Banks to the floor and takes care of Tamina, back in and Naomi tries for a roll up, NO SOUP FOR YOU NAOMI, Banks statement and she’s done.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Sasha Banks @ 13:40 via submission

– JoJo interviews AJ Styles. Styles speaks about Jericho’s attack, and says on Raw he wad called a redneck rookie. He agrees with the redneck part, but he’s far from a rookie. Jericho is one of the best, and he understand what Jericho is doing, trying to get him angry. Styles says tonight, he will show the world and Jericho why they call him phenomenal.

– The Wyatts are in the back and tell us that they are here.

THE WYATTS TRY TO USE WORDS: We get a video package, using AJ Styles’ “Evil Ways” TNA theme music. Wyatt cuts a promo, this time about guys going to war and discussing the titans and Gods. He talks about the titans being beaten by Zeus, the king of the Gods, and he says he is the King of the Gods and the swamp monsters are his army. They took out Kane, Big Show and The Ryback. They want to take out all of the WWE’s titans so the fans have new Gods to worship. Harper says even the biggest titans turn to mortals, Rowan says there is no point in existing, so bow your heads and accept your fate. Strowman says the Earth will shake, oceans will boil and darkness will consume all. Wyatt says the apocalypse is all around you, and the new Gods will take their place. They are ready to fly, he is the angel of the dirt, the eater of worlds, because he is Bray Wyatt. The war against the Gods has just begun. Follow the buzzards.

– We get a Black History month video package.

Neville, Sin Cara and Kalisto vs. Stardust, Konnor and Viktor: The heels attacked before the bell and sent the Dragons to the floor and worked over Neville. The match started as Stardust worked the immediate heat on Neville. Quick tags from the Cosmic Wasteland as they works over Neville, who got a small package and got kicked in the face. Neville scored with a dropkick and then tagged in Kalisto. Seated senton on Konnor followed by the corkscrew press. Head scissors to Viktor and Cara then sends him to the floor. The faces take full control, and we get stereo dives by the dragons. Konnor tried to fight back, blind tag by Cara and Kalisto hits Salida del sol, Cara hits the swanton bomb and then Neville hits the red arrow and that was that. It was short, but fun.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Neville, Sin Cara and Kalisto @ 2:33 via pin

– Commentary discusses Daniel Bryan’s retirement, and we get a video package from Raw.

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho: We got a stare down from across the ring as Lawler buries AJ for his hairstyle choice. They lock up and are pretty aggressive early, doing basic stuff like the side headlock takeover, but with more aggression than usual, playing off of the opening segment and the fact that AJ already beat Jericho. AJ hit the dropkick early and followed with chops in the corner. I love that Ranallo is putting over AJ’s outside accomplishments. AJ works forearms, Jericho fights back but AJ with a short head scissors follows. Jericho cuts him off and gets the catapult under the ropes, and he takes control and follows with a suplex. Chops by Jericho follow, to the corner and AJ gets the boots up and goes to the apron, but Jericho gets the springboard dropkick and sends AJ to the floor. We head to a commercial break…

Back from commercial as Jericho is in control with the chinlock. AJ works to his feet, off the ropes but eats a back elbow. AJ counters the bulldog and sends Jericho to the corner, follows with chops and then forearm strike and covers for 2. Jericho fights back and hits the basement dropkick and covers for 2. Chops follow, and then he running clothesline in the corner. Jericho slams AJ to the mat, Jericho to the second rope and AJ fights back and hits the PELE and covers for 2. Jericho hits the butterfly suplex into the back breaker and then looks for the walls, by AJ escapes and lands a series of strikes, but Jericho manages an enziguri and covers for 2. Jericho up top, but AJ catches him with a dropkick on the way down. They trade rights center ring, off the ropes and Jericho counters the dropkick and hits the lionsault for a near fall. Rights by Jericho follow, and then kicks to the back. Jericho charges and then eats a neck breaker from the fireman’s carry position for 2. AJ looks for the clash, but Jericho counters and tries for the walls. Jericho finally locks it in and sits down deep on it, but AJ crawls for the ropes but Jericho pulls him back. AJ keeps fighting and counters into the calf crusher and gets it. Jericho fights, teases tapping, but finally gets the ropes. The ref backs off AJ, who then dropkicks Jericho to the floor. Plancha by AJ connects, and he rolls Jericho back into the ring. AJ sets, springboards in but Jericho cuts him off and Jericho covers, but his feet were in the ropes. Jericho shoots AJ to the corner and then hits the codebreaker on the rebound and that is all. I am not a big fan of AJ losing already, but it was a great match with very good pacing and intensity, way batter than the Raw match as both guys looked very comfortable. Ranallo added so much to the match as well.
